Okay no I can say this

I overtuned my jail townread a bit. My gut told me to. I have no logical reason to townread jail so much. I haven’t seen him wolf. I was applying a generic mild town tell - “this player is acting sensibly and seems happy and enthusiastic” = town. Minor thing, but hard to have anything other than minor at very start of the game. So it’s okay to read people for such minor things I think at adequate stages of the game. I do have the youbie townread on jail which reassures me more. So I should still keep jail someone in townreads. But I should remind myself to not like “sleepwalk” into perma townreading jail. I did this with Zug last game. Don’t sleepwalk sheep. Okay

What else I can squeeze out… Frostwolf. Comfortably null. Lack of desire to engage in SoD posting tilts scale a bit into wolfy, but then he had this cadence / confidence / imperative sentences that are archetypical town frostwolf which tipped scales into towny. Overall balance. Yeah, balance is a good way to put it. But I haven’t read his other posts. I’m not sure why I’m saying this then. Oh well I will not delete and click “Reply”. Full honesty

It usually takes me time to get into the game. I also vowed to not mindlessly tunnel Leafia again.

I don’t know what that leaves me. Unless I sheep you on Chomps being a wolf.

I think forming a consensus on the wagons this early would be odd. It’s still so early, I think it’s good for things to be “free-flowy” still for a good while

This is so funny to hear someone say, but also this isn’t MU and so players probably are unfamiliar to my latest wolfgames.

I think I tend to struggle to post a lot more as a wolf and so I end up posting very little, but I also may post very little if the game is boring me.

You seemed fairly easy to read in the previous game whose name I forgot (oh it was Wrogn mafia).

Oh okay, then can we rely on neil reading you with a high accuracy?

I guess so, though I feel like wolf!me would be able to pocket someone like neil.

I feel like I should mention that usually it’s a good day strategy to make someone the top wagon and force them out of the comfort zone. Once they feel town enough, move to someone else and repeat.

However, aorn I don’t feel like getting into action.

Interesting, is this the meta on MU? From games I’ve played across multiple sites this resulted in players getting tilted and basically going “none of you guys can read me, fuck you all” and then they give up and then everyone scumreads them for giving up and then they flip town. Well, not always, this is a bit cynical anecdote, but I’ve seen it happen a lot. Not that I’m discouraging it, I’m unfamiliar with forum mafia “meta” these days. Just sharing my experience

I wouldn’t be opposed to trying to apply group pressure like that to make people squirm until they town tell, with a reminder that the people pressuring should remind themselves to not go overboard and to be gentle with their words, and for the person being pushed to remind themselves that it’s a game and to please not get tilted and give up hope in their teammates and to not take it personally

Oh well, I don’t know. I usually like putting one or two wagons on top to force players to take sides. Though maybe we need to be careful to not tunnel/confbias on a player who get nervous when that happens to them.

Otherwise we can just sit out, have a nice cup of tea, talk reads and then we wait until it’s like 1 hour to EOD to wagon someone we all feel like (and hope they flip wolf).

Also I feel like my kind of strategy would need at least half of the players to be engaged, but I don’t feel like putting a lot of effort this early.

Maybe we can talk about anime, animated shows, TV series while we wait everyone get in?

My experience with w!Zone is that he will act unhinged and chaotic for its own sake, minimally speaking. He will enact this behaviour as town on occasion as well, yet only typically on the later days when he’s pushed to the brink and he needs space to ramble externally with himself. All in all, the simplest manner in which to describe the difference is that w!Zone is quickly inspired to contemplate himself, discussing the placements of his thoughts about others through the vessel that is himself; whereas v!Zone skips the middleman and jumps immediately into dissecting tidbits which draw focus towards other players. The exception to this point is his willingness to deliberately return a vote, which is occasionally used as weak disincentive against being voted, which nonetheless I’ve only seen from the latter rather than the former — possibly even to the degree of being indicative although I lack affirmation there.

I don’t have an incredible position on Chomps regarding your other vibrant reads, although I’m carefree to help you pursue such an affront for the present meantime until a different station arises.
VOTE: Chomps.

Tutuu’s readlists feel earnestly opinionated, yet not intrinsically villager-esque at this current juncture. It’s a tad early for that.

As the co-host of Kakegurui FM, I can confirm this. (If I had to complain about anything regarding that game’s mafia team, then it’d be that the mafia team had barely communicated in mafia chat…)

I am not leaving this unknown.

Vampire Masquerade (March 2024, Victory)
Grand Idea (March 2023, Loss)
Helluva Boss (December 2022, Victory)

…I have not rand Mafia often in the last couple of years, it seems. (Even if I were to add offsite games, it would barely double the amount…)

Something to think about at least, although my gut is telling me that Chomps is a villager.

Me too but he feels just like he did last game honestly, and he was a villager that game. Not too confident on him being a villager this game though but I’m willing to look elsewhere for wolves for the time being.

@tutuu Do me next.

After 235 posts, I’m confident in doing something with zero arguments: Applying my homesite’s logic to read a player. In particular, to read tutuu. I’m just going to townread him.

There’s a tell in “old NUF” (around 2021), and I’m willing to just townread him based on that tell.

Is it a reliable tell? Not at all. Players from my homesite would probably (still) yell at me for using this “tell”, but in all my years of experience, I’d say it works most of the time.

(Like, it probably won’t work on certain types of players, but tutuu should fall within the norms for this “tell”.)

((Note: I am not going to explain what this “tell” is.))

One of my biggest “fears” is this: Everyone is occasionally online, yet nobody talks.

EU gang do be sleeping right now, but I don’t recall Willow (one of ILP heads) living in EU.

(…for the record, I am also part of EU gang. Consider my sleep schedule to be borked.)

I watched The Dragon Prince up to season three. Apparently it now has seven seasons, and I’ve been meaning to catch up and maybe rewatch the whole thing. It’s been a while.

I’ve been watching Shangri-La Frontier S2 for a while. It’s a decent anime. I also saw “Isekai Red Ranger” got an anime adaptation. I’m kind of embarrassed about it, but I have been enjoying the manga, so maybe I’ll give the anime a try.
