Magnus has been improving over the course of today, but I can still see them as potentially a wolf. Magnus is currently a coinflip for me that’s very slightly more likely to flip v.

I townread Magnus because I found myself frustrated by their words multiple times, and I’ve learned that it ends up being more accurate than not to townread the player when I find myself in that position. I rarely if ever find myself being frustrated by players who end up flipping mafia, I usually laugh at them. I was laughing at Hippo and his threats.
When I was thinking out loud earlier why wasn’t I strongmanned N1, Magnus suggested that there is no reason for the Mafia to prioritize killing the top posters. They characterizied my contributions to this game as “being the top poster”, as if I’ve done nothing else to warrant being killed other than having a high post count. They had a degree of smugness about oh how wrong I am going to be on Hippo, how Hippo is obvious town and how I will lose my composure D2 after I mischop him.
They characterized my scumread on childe as simply scumreading it due to low post count, and questioned why would anyone care, and when I corrected them they quoted my posts and argued about how my read looked like to them, instead of doing the what I think the sensible thing to do which is asking “Ok, what is your reason for scumreading it then?”
I think Magnus has been expressing this aura of somewhat looking down on me, in terms of skill level, at certain times. I think that the faith that they have in themselves, in order to parse me and/or others as so much below them, is towny.
Magnus is a fantastic wolf. Really scary. So I do think it’s wise to be wary of them. But Magnus also does get scumread often as town. Difficult for them to be on the same page as fellow villagers. So like … it’s just a bit risky no matter what. No matter what read you make on Magnus, it could be wrong. I don’t think they’re easy to be certain of their alignment.

I would like to bring attention to Frostwolf. I don’t think he’s egregiously scummy, but in case we end up being wrong in our PoE, I think he’s a good place to look at

Definitely not the worst of ideas honestly. If I’m wrong on any of my townreads, it’s probably Frost. A major part of why I townread him is that he was relatively antiHippo somewhat close to EoD1.
He hasn’t done much more than that other than his aranoia which I find to be slightly villagery.

Oh I guess I can mention at least one time I was frustrated by a player who ended up being mafia. It was a player who was obviously agenda tunneling me and ignoring whatever argument I had. I guess I was more of frustrated everyone thought they seemed convincing just because they had more words.

I am kinda hoping childe turns out to be wolf to be honest. I feel like I am going to be next on the list and I would like for town to have a massive advantage at least.
