I could not understand Magnus’ post without transcribing it into words I understand.

I could not transcribe Magnus’ posts without adding my own thoughts, interpretations, and opinions to the transcription. (Because that’s just my personality.)

Adding my own thoughts, interpretations, and opinions on top of transcribing archaic English to everyday English had cost me over an hour of my life. (Most likely because I added the “unnecessary” rant in the middle of the transcription.)

And all of that, was for a read Magnus made, about the potatocat… from 24+ hours / ~480 posts ago. Lord knows how outdated it might be.

The bbittiest part about transcribing a lengthy post that uses archaic words: Translation.

What does “yabba dabba doo” mean? Does it “yabba the doo with dabba” or does it “doo yabba the dabba”? For buck’s sake, I know language is bbit for each language, but there ought to be no need to make this more complex than it already is!

I don’t know what’s worse. The fact that– Y’know what? No. Magnus said they will try to sacrifice “clarity of transparent expression”, so I’ll just have to trust that they will actually do it.

Hopefully their posting frequency can also go up in the process. You don’t need to be a hyperposter like tutuu to have thread presence, but that doesn’t mean you are easy to remember if you aren’t posting a lot.

Then there’s the newcomer (Camilleon15)… I wonder how she’s doing. I feel like she lied about being a prodigy. She is probably not a total newbie, but given her actions (or rather, the lack thereof), she might as well be considered as someone who has never played the game before.

You can’t deny it is understandable though.

Among the millions or billions of netizens in this world, the average user would not describe “I went back to the game thread to review things” as “I returned to the game thread with the pursuit of revision roundabouts”.

Well Chomps isn’t on the Chocolate list, so unless he is courting death like Hippo did, then him getting checked by Neapolitan should result in a greencheck. (That is, assuming Neapolitan checks Chomps in the first place.)

which. tbf. the magnus post isnt that hard to parse but the main issue i have with it is that it is apparently a read on potato but ends in a non sequitur and comments not on the alignment of potatocat (which imo reacing that wall makes me tl more)and instead offers a rather simple aligning read, despite the Tone of the post implying neutral to unfavourably on potato, and magnus’ vote is regardless on chomps. so . erm

Good for you. I am ESL, and somehow interpreting Frostwolf -who is also ESL- was easier than interpreting Magnus.

I don’t know what that means, so I will say no.

Pardon my lack of attention, but (1) who do you think should be checked, and (2) who do you scumread as of now? ((Are you actually scumreading Chomps?))
