Perhaps it’s painful, but theoretically the three outcomes are Neapolitan!Jail (best to stay alive), Vanilla!Jail bluffing Neapolitan (also best to stay alive), and Mafia!Jail (sorta painless due to rolemadness). I am ignoring the societal factors which might lead to some discontent, that’s true.

Neapolitan wouldn’t be so desperate to save w!Hippo out of nowhere at EOD1. But fine. Let’s assume v!jail is willing to save someone whom they had “suddenly townread”. (You and potatocat seemed to be planning the same thing anyway, from what I have seen.)

Neapolitan would have seen at least one of tutuu’s two pings about the plan to form a Chocolate group. But fine. Let’s assume v!jail has reading skill comprehension. Maybe tunnel vision or something.
(jail, this is not me belittling your intelligence, but your skills. You can have all the knowledge of “how to build a wall” all you want, but if you lack the crafting skills to actually build a wall, then all those knowledge is meaningless.)

Neapolitan would have targeted someone whose alignment they are unsure of. Now, what is jail’s readslist? Oh, he didn’t make one.

jail townread Hippo out of nowhere, switched opinions last minute (P#1066) and proceeded with D2 as if Hippo wasn’t already openwolfing before jail defended Hippo (P#1187)

Where in all of this is potatocat? Ah, yes. She was briefly mentioned in P#91, but that one is probably outdated. Yet this does not explain why jail chose her out of literally anyone else.

From my observation, jail had townread [tutuu, Leafia, Zone, ILP] and scumread only Chomps. However, he also realized that his motive to scumread chomps was flawed. (P#1034) Why then did v!jail choose to check potatocat of all people?

Now I can’t say I found some interesting stuff while I was ISO’ing jail, so here are some items that might be of his aid:

• P#98: Gives list of people who have yet to talk to “neocop san”, implying he himself isn’t one. (One might argue it is cop cover, but I don’t buy it.)
• P#989: “nobody needs to change flavor” written 20 minutes before EOD; 8 seconds before posting “i cant trust yall”

This isn’t a frabjous case for me to play devil’s advocate on. Aw well, glory. Parsing it over, it’s very easy to justify keeping any pigeonholed slot alive for extended lengths of time with the slightest justification in this setup, at least insofar as the Neapolitan lives; which means specifically speaking, it doesn’t broadly help or hurt whether a known evil lives or dies; and while it might be undeterminable right now from an external lens, it will be known irrevocably at some future time. It’s not quite the same as sleeping all the time, though.

However, I also don’t really have any suspect I’d really want dead right now as an alternative. Others might, but I’d guess it’d just end up being Childe who I don’t think is super evil. I could be wrong twice but…

If the cop isn’t going to check me then there’s no point staying Vanilla. It doesn’t effect the game. So I’m okay being Chocolate if the consensus is that the cop shouldn’t check me. But I prefer being able to be greenchecked if there’s any chance of that happening.

Clarify. Hippo’s reaction towards Childe’s culpable accusation didn’t feel as pointed and unpartnering as an evil player would ideally want to sound towards another evil, but rather passive and stilted as though not wanting to keep any possible affiliation vague.

Nowhere was this mentioned at EOD1, nor was it hinted anywhere at SOD2. In fact, the first thing you did at D2 (other than defending yourself) was going along with tutuu’s wagon and voting childe.

I know you said you sold your town leadership to tutuu, but I don’t believe this warrants a blind sheep vote. But okay. Even if “that is simply how you are”, surely you would’ve noticed Leafia’s first post being a “my check was either a red on Magnus or a green on Frostwolf” cop cover? After all, you even responded to it.

Yet when I asked you and Chomps to give results if you were Neapolitan, you didn’t respond to me. No; you responded to Magnus voting you. You were under moderate pressure, but nowhere near the pressure Hippo felt at EOD1, before he started lolcatting. At the time, childe had only one vote less than yourself. There was no need for Neapolitan to claim… if you really are one.

You refused to give your checks at first (which we wouldn’t have asked for, had you not claimed Neapolitan), and when you did give it, you claimed to have checked one of the people who was planned to be non-Vanilla.

You didn’t read tutuu’s plan twice at D1. You didn’t read Chomps’ post correctly. You didn’t read Hippo’s meta correctly. You didn’t read Leafia’s cop cover at the beginning of D2. You didn’t read my demand for potential results, and instead went straight to claiming a Neapolitan whose action is as good as wasted.

In my eyes, there simply is no point in keeping you alive. @Magnus must be tripping, because regardless of what you are, you will 100% claim you got anti-claimed at D3, after which Mafia can just counterclaim at around D5 or so.
