Hm. One issue: If this succeeds, then we cannot utilize espionage ourselves without becoming a country with double standards.
Other than this, I don’t see any immediate issue.

“I’ve heard from my spymaster that such an idea could very much well work. Dare say, it has a greater than 50% of working.”
I worry, not even all the people in our region would bow to that threat, we’ve already heard in our own council some of the northerners talk down on the Ninth God.
At this point I’m at my wits end, and wouldn’t mind going for it.
VOTE: Option C
“Faith in the Ninth is a wise thought, however I am aware that not all regions share this same belief. As a result it might work on some if they have been closer to our teachings, yet it risks being ineffective should they moreso have trained in the beliefs of the Chiefs before joining our ranks to spy on us… we do not even know what these spies believe in, except taking our nation down.”
Kael sighs, wearily unsheathing his blade
“If we must, then we would be able to help gather information. We are skilled duellists and this espionage is an affront to the Ninth. Trying to use faith to dissuade them at first and if needed, to use action. Perhaps that is our only choice.”
“Ah, there’s a slight problem. The Chiefs believe the ninth exist, but that he’s not something to be worshipped - and this belief is legally protected in our kingdom. I do not wish to overstep our bounds on the chiefs beliefs…but I also don’t have any better ideas.”
I agree with my fellow grandee. If it is to become a matter of the ninth, and if your spymaster is confident it may work despite a chance of difference of beliefs…. Than the Grandees will be the shield by your side and watch over the campaign, and if made very necessary, are willing to oversight punishment as well.
Augustin studies both of his parchments, brow furrowed in thought.
The other options presented to us are… quite ridiculous. So if this is the path the king wishes to go down, I put my trust into him and am willing to help see it through.
VOTE: Option C
“Might I say, my liege… all of our regions have our own strengths. This feels like a thing which the Counts should be particularly skilled in uncovering. Perhaps we should each play to our own strengths in order to try and take this problem down.”
Kael looks around the room, pointing towards different people
“The Patricians have a mind for business, perhaps they would best understand what to do if the spies have been offered a considerable sum. The Counts are well verged in secrecy, perhaps they can help us to uncover some secrets lying within our ranks. The Chiefs and us Grandees both have different beliefs, but using religious motivation could help dissuade some would be spies from being recruited and to sell others out… And should all that fail then we have plenty of combat prowess between The Barons, Chiefs and ourselves.”
gonna take it option C is an appeal to faith?
“I do not fear us being invaded - we have the military strength to overcome any obstacles. However, there’s a possibility they might try to either divide us, or use their information to feed to one of our enemies, which is the main concern here. We might be divided on issues at time, but when push comes to shove - we unite on the issues that matter.”
(I think option c is a massive scare campaign about how you might be damned if you spy and you need to repent and confess your sins to any church (which, we would use to gather information), scare campaigns have always been quite succesful)
cool
“Your concerns are not unfounded. My suggestion merely was to play to our strengths. We have minds from all over our kingdom gathered, each with our own ways to be able to help deal with this current problem. Our priority should be to try and uncover current spies and to prevent future ones. My method might work with this.”

(This was actually a really cool event to roleplay as it felt like we were actually trying to solve a problem rather than go for stat bonuses)
