Pool is not randomized
But you can basically treat it like it is
This is not something to gloat about
Also the reason you donât want to pregame min max is because on average youâll rand town and youâll just be shooting yourself in the foot
Once the rand goes out nobody can communicate until roles have been picked
Also this
What roles are stronger or weaker is highly a matter of opinion which will vary on the rand itself
IC, Hunter, Bartender
Only thing bartender really can block is a kill, which means you will deal with one more confirmed town, but you just keep killing and another kill happens next night.
So Bartender with own messages and delay just functions as second IC (still better than cop who could clear more, or get scum).
Hunter is -EV, since mafia is picking roles, they know to not stack on lynches. Or at least be friendly to lynched people. They know they can be hunter, town doesnât, meaning itâs a bonus kill for mafia.
Wait no, bartender gets check like tracker fi this happens. Hmm
Letâs start from basics. If scum doesnât claim PR, all 3 roles will get clear regardless, due to no cc.
Scum can claim: Cop, Bulletproof, Hunter, Doctor, JK, Tracker.
Tracker in specific situation, depending on roles town has. Otherwise itâs risky.
Now we go to the theory zone, there are 2 options: to claim PR or not. And both of them have preferred role picks.
Without scum claiming PR:
3/10 in vanilla claims is scum
All 3 prs are confirmed.
Top picks:
IC - easy pick, since PRs will be confirmed anyway.
Hunter - easy pick, since it either removes confirmed town in exchange of them killing someone. And mafia knows hunter exists. We also are in odd amount of players, meaning one more kill speeds up the game by one day.
Picks to avoid:
Cop - no cc means that he is confirmed in himself AND can clear more people.
Desperado - While he can kill himself, it would create new confirmed town, lowering PoE of vanilla.
With scum claiming PR:
Now that is more interesting.
2/9 in vanilla (or 1/8) being scum.
1/4 (or 2/5) in roles being scum.
Top picks:
Indec tracker - with scum claiming PRs, it is viable to escape suspicion of being tracker or putting doubt on tracker himself. Very weak role in PR heavy setup.
Indec jailkeeper - while stronger than doctor, the mafia claiming PRs means more active roles are picked, 2 sources of rb (with mafia roleblocker) will cause more confusion, as well as put heavy suspicion of them. We are also in world where there is many PRs, so jailkeeper has to roleblock to protect.
Picks to avoid:
IC - directly lowers the PoE of PRs. Bad if mafia intends to cc them.
Hunter - allows to lynch them and if wrong, kill other PR claim. Bad.
Bartender - while delaying actions by day can be useful, them sending bartender message means they are confirmed, like IC. Bad pick.
Basically depends on what game mafia decides to pursue - very vanilla with no PR ccs - picking passive roles for town helps, to limit information they can pick from.
Active game, leading townies astray - picking weak or double edged PRs helps.
The real issue is that they canât discuss it beforehand and both playstyles have diametraly different picks.
There are quite a few overlaps however - track being relatively good pick for both cases (top pick in 2nd case and relatively avarge in first too, allowing only to find mafia performing a kill).
Or bad in both cases: Bartender (very back pick in second, and relatively avarge in first, allowing only to find mafia performing a kill).
As per protectives - Doctor is better in 1st case, jailkeeper in second. Mostly since first setup focuses on giving town passives and 2nd on non-confirmable actives. they are comparable tho.
Desperado should always be avoided OR nullified with roleblocker.
Bulletproof is maybe bit better in 1st case, but relatively good pick in both cases. Realistically town wonât lynch hunter in 1st case, without CCs. Meaning it doesnât gain bonus lynch from solo BPV.
So realistically I would let person with BPV pick BPV.
Person with tracker pick tracker.
And then last person who doesnât have either, pick type of game, depending on what options are left to them.
If they pick Hunter or IC, it would be easy no-cc game.
If they pick stuff like jailkeper, maybe being forced to pick cop - go for active CC game.
Meaning it would end up with something like:
BPV, Tracker, Hunter.
Which would be relatively easy to play against setup.
Do you not see it as something to improve on?
But realistically it highly depends if it rands active scum team or not, cause realistically scum team should be going better if at least one of them ccâs roles.
But they need to be confident that person can carry it out flawlessly.
Youâre welcome and thanks. ^_^ Interestingly, Sylveon is my favorite Eeveelution with Leafen being a close second.
Tries to tempt Eevee and Marl into joining
Mafia picked role like this or know the player is assigned with role like this are two different matters
Iâve played a similar setup before, and I know the host will balance the selections. I can think of two ways to approach this:
Mafia goons will get their three unique roles from the main pool and submit one each. These roles could be anything host decides.
Based on the selection of the first two, a host-balanced list of roles will be presented to the Mafia Roleblocker. These roles could get stronger or weaker depending on what the goons choose at the beginning.
-OR-
It is handed out at the same time, but groupings look something like this:
Mafia 1 gets to pick one from Protective roles (Doc, Bulletproof, Jailkeeper)
Mafia 2 gets to pick one from Investigative roles (Cop, Tracker, IC)
Mafia 3 gets to pick one from Power roles (Desperado, Hunter, Bartender)
I canât say which role is stronger or weaker for the mafia or town. However, I think the setup balance will keep some roles apart from being brought together in this game.
The fact that I have been bothering to censor words like fuck and shit over the past few years (unless I get very emotional) is already enough of an improvement in my opinion.
My ultimate goal in life is to be remembered. If I canât be remembered as a good guy, then being remembered as a bad guy is an acceptable alternative for me.
I was gonna make a joke like âWho are you againâ but honestly, you are pretty memorable dude. In the few games Iâve played with you, youâve always been a good person to trust/listen to.
Thatâs Dumb but ok.
Alright fine.
But no one pick alignment cop or Iâll grab some nails and stick them to a tree for the remainder of the game.
Alright I guess thatâs fair.
The worst choice to give is Alignment Cop though and the second worst to give is probably Jailkeeper.
Everything else I can probably deal with.
