Day 2 of designing [System].
I am currently struggling between whether I should categorize the Systems or not. I currently have categorized them, but I don’t know to what degree this will be useful. (At least they look neat?)
Out of the 17 Systems, I have documented 6 of them. Thanks to discussing with Osie yesterday / today before sunrise, I have gained more understanding as to how to categorize the Systems, and learned to take more care for “player experience”. (…yeah, no. I’ll take care of that after I actually have enough words to work with.)
Out of the 11 Systems heavily involved in abilities, 4 Systems give the players benefits, while the other 7 Systems are recognized as Systems that simply “exist”. (Arguably I might need to remove one aspect from a Core System and turn it into this type of System.)
Y’know, it feels weird working from the ground up. Usually I make the roles first and come up with whatever mechanic suits them, but this time it’s the other way around. …I miss making roles. Documenting these Systems is such a time-consuming activity.
On a sidenote, kudos to Magnus for introducing me to the kbd-stuff. It looks pretty neat.
