squid game: the challenge is exceptionally mid

Squid game season 2 was aight. I binged it all as soon as it dropped (I like death game media). My review is the same as literally anyone else who’s watched it: The focus was put a lot more on the story outside of the games themselves (like the outside), and less on inside the game facility. The actual games themselves were fun, the cast had a couple of bangers, but I wish it just repeated what season 1 did so well which was have a Fun Cast play Cool Games.

this is a spoiler but one you should know going in: season 2 is basically “season 2 part 1”, it only gets through halfway, 3 of the games.

I didn’t really want Season 2 to be more of the same from season 1. I’m glad it’s not doing that.

I did want more of the same from season 1 but I guess with the split seasons, season 3 should have enough time to actually do the games justice and also focus on the outside plotline. Eventually I can just torrent it and cut out all of the outside plot because I am a death game purist and don’t like a focus in death game media on anything outside of the games themselves. (beyond exposition/denouement)
