i love writing cryptic short stories tho

i should do it more but i have not done that yet

That film did not deserve four Golden Globes, and I say this knowing nada about any of the stuff that it’s been accused of horrifically misrepresenting.

but then again it makes sense! like. society has to pretend that masculinising and femininising puberties are fundamental, immutable processes in order for oppositional sexism to be kept alive. if everyone knew that you can just have the puberty ““opposte”” to your biological sex, that would upset the whole arrangement

not that knowledge alone is enough to upend systems of oppression, of course

the joy of creation…

still, knowledge of the fact that puberty is not something that is inexorably inflicted by your karyotype but is rather a complex system of interlocking hormonal and developmental processes that is far less immutable than we teach kids in sex education is dangerous to our oppressive social order

pretending that puberty is an inevitability that you have no choice in whatsoever is just patently a lie. it’s obviously important for the body to physically develop, but, like. undergoing andropuberty was a deeply traumatising experience for me! and it’s not something that was just inevitable, it is something that was done to me via inaction

hm i should do that

to be clear, this haasn’t always been the case! but science has advanced! everyone talks about puberty blockers, but puberty blockers were themselves the compromise solution, and an eminently reasonable one at that
