okay so basically PS2s were dvd players that could play games. like they were a fairly well priced dvd player. that was also a playstation.
its alot harder to put into context because nowadays the games are much more often multiplatform with both xbox and playstation releases and often PC. so when you think of releases back then its easy to see them like we do now except then 90% of those were PS2.

Res games on wii sucked too
The weird controller was innovative and cool but made it so that games that youâd expect to really enjoy couldnât be properly interacted with anymore

They obviously fixed this with the switch having controllers you can attach on and off the console so games like pokemon can actually be played

i have a PS2. its a dvd player. its a pretty good dvd player. i had a newer dvd player and it was less robust. I was born in 2006

also if you donât like mario (like I do) half of your list disappears
okay sure Zelda is popular (which I also donât like but) and so is Pikmin which Iâve never played

frankly it did get less use than my vcr. we didnt have many dvds because they still cost money because people actually bought dvds. my library stopped renting vhs tapes when i was like 5 and i got to keep some of them though. this is why im autistic about transformers ftr they inexplicably had the vhs release of transformers headmasters first 6 episodes

I love mario party. Mario kart is okay. I wouldnât actively play it, though, itâs more for when you have a group of people.
Iâm specifically referring to the platformers. I donât like platformers as a whole.
