Maybe in reality 10 mil + because I think with that amount of money I could reasonably extend the lives of other people by provably more than 20 years and would feel some obligation to do so.

But the thing says exclude altruistic motivations, so no amount of money could do it for me. The fact that accidents are delayed by 20 years means I could live my entire 20s and 30s knowing I am basically invincible from random death, would really help anxiety etc.

if i had a comfortable life with sufficient money i would be less likely to take money. i just dont

also $100k for me is like $300k for an american taking into account cost of living

that tends to be the overwhelming opinion mhm

Yeah I’m at about the same place. Not so much about anxiety for me as it is about just, like, years are more valuable than anything. Money is not currently taking 20 years’ worth off my life, things would have to get way way worse for money to take 20 years off my life

Try the reverse question thbthtbhtbthb
Where you vary the number of years and keep the money constant

there’s a subreddit called ā€œfourthworldproblemsā€ that i occasionally see on reddit, where people make caveman jokes or whatever

sometimes my mind doesn’t connect it with the ā€œfirst-thirdā€ world scaling and think that this is what the people think a super futuristic universe would be like

if the money in question is 10k - it would take 5 years for me to take years over 10k

if the money is 100k - it would take 30 years for me to take years over 100k

if the money is over half a million - im always taking the money. i dont wanna extend my lifespan by more than 30-40-50, i would be a walking corpse. there was this picture of this tibetian monk that lived until 115. and he was a living rotting corpse

potentially nsfw, looks a bit scary, 109 year old man

so he’s 109 here. i dont wanna be in that position. i think i’d prefer to just let me rest in peace

i think there was a woman that lived to 119 that looked okay, if just a bit old

That guy was also a tibetan monk yes

most cases of people living for a long time happen to be in areas that keep spotty track of birth records and which give a lot of money to old people

i’m sure it’s just a coincidence

Hmmm maybe I won’t drink alcohol under normal circumstances. It’s not very interesting. I mostly do it because I expect that thiiiis time it’ll finally be interesting. It’s never interesting. It’s literally just normal

My other alternative is joining the 20 shots guys which would probably be interesting

this is heavily skewed by gender difference. in 2022, life expectency at birth for women is 78.1, for men its 70.8. a bunch of different causes, more stress due to expected to provide, a lot of women are housewives. heavy drinking and smoking culture. second highest smoking country in the world. cultural unhealthy food, a lot of sugar and fat. a ton of manual labor jobs. lowest wages in europe, non-existent mental healthcare
