Because I don’t want to help them more than I do anybody else
My investments are done via an algorithm that I have no control over (by design). However, I’m more viewing the AI bubble as a potential match to light the powder keg that is the market more generally. I think the market (both domestically and internationally) feels, uh, shaky? Like the unrealized losses graph seems… bad? I don’t know enough about economics and the market to have a solid grasp on it to fully understand the implications, but like hundreds of times worse than 2008 does not strike me as a good place to be.
like genuinely i cant imagine this
i really can’t imagine even this
(with the implication that they’re roughly equal amounts of benefits, ofc)
because like
okay but like. do you Care More about them
like why are they your loved ones if not that. convention?
this is both a genuine and rhetorical question
By “close to me” in this specific definition I mean physically close to me, by the way, like “in my town” or whatever. It’s still, like, probably ~true if we’re talking people who I know, but like
oh
Convention
i mean i want to help everyone obviously but i have to pay closer attention to those who are in reach, emotionally speaking, y’know?
well damn i guess may is generally unempathic
I will never love any person as much as I love the whole world that’s just how I am
i’m a great cool, i love everyone, i feel a good, but you make me angry!
well yea but a stranger isn’t the whole world
sorry this is fucking baffling to me.
Yeah to be clear my criticism here isn’t about, like, people caring about their loved ones more htan others, that’s very natural, most people think this way, it’d be silly to complain. My complaint is when people philosophically present that as The Ultimate Good and lacking it as Evil
very much a conflicting worldviews moment
yeah love is just a nice bonus what mattters is how you treat the world around you
iirc AI is a pretty big amount chunk the revenue coming out of AWS. I’d personally avoid amazon if you’re wanting to avoid the speculative AI bubble. Problem is basically every big tech stock has been pumped by AI speculation
(I’m more bearish on the market as a whole and not just AI lol)
ik rare marissa tuesday post i’ve just been hooked in
When “I care about benefiting and supporting specifically My Community and The People Around Me” is also a force that makes people, like, racist, like it’s not an inherently good drive, it’s a pretty neutral one,
