Why not match like \b[Ww]+[Oo]{2,}[Ff]+\b and then replace the matched string ny + a * (lengthOfMatchedSubstring - 2)?

I don’t know an efficient way to match the capitalization, but creating a naive method is straightforward if you really wanted to by just iterating over the matched substring.

Python has re.IGNORECASE

I know but I wanted to write it all inline and didn’t want to look up syntax. That flag probably just has the interpreter rewrite the pattern to what I wrote anyway so it’s whatever lol

Edit: actually it probably depends on interpreter implementation. If it uses like a regex module written in C or whatever then it likely just uses that implementation’s flag. Anyway
