Thoughts on, “The first time you KO a Pokemon with this move in a battle, your recharge turn is skipped,” as being a potential buff?
that doesn’t particularly matter because of the length of VGC games - one recharge-free Hyper Beam is enough to change the course of the entire game

the main difference is the fact that a certain electric dog would become insanely common to deal with zapdos. its already a fucking absurd pokemon that you need to take into account making it the best supportive and offensive mon in the tier instead of snorlax
one could argue cloyster could do the same except cloyster is to gen 2 what skarm is to gen 3. meta defining but if you make it the king i dont think it doing too much

the sheer special saturation as a result could also lead to gsc ou going from a fucked up game of chess to what current gen players think gen 2 is. the pink blob could become common

zapdos is fucked up already in gen 2 but then it gets hidden power and suddenly its absolutely fucked. I’ve seen enough gen 2 to know that zapdos wars are already something youll see every fucking game like a raid boss making it the top dog just makes that 2 billion times worse
