Oh yeah wtf
yeah
how much do you think is a good number to invite?
in that case if people played optimally (or at least would rather draw than flat out lose) then it was impossible for anyone to win
outstanding game design
Bruh.
yeah
honestly it probably shouldn’t be a thing
but it’s in there so that people lie about who’s in their federation, to disguise if the 5-person federation is necessary
Idk
Probably at least 16+
ye
i’ll figure out an invitational sometime i guess
if you had a lot of time to mess around with rerands then you could see how many players you have to add so that you get a not-broken rand in a reasonable number of attempts
fair enough
spreadsheet time (eventually)
like if you add a player and it still takes you like 10 rands to get a not-broken one then you probably want to add another player and repeat
also we should probably use some metrics to define what a “broken rand is” that isn’t just “X person cannot win” cuz that takes a lot of time to figure out
i mean there’s always a small chance that it isn’t actually broken with a certain number of players and you just get really unlucky which would make you unnecessarily increase the amount of players
but if this is something you want to host multiple times then you probably dont want to have to rerand several times when you actually host the game
To be fair
in a larger game probably not everyone will know everyone’s rivals anyway
it only becomes impossible for certain players to win once everyone knows everyone’s rivals which probably wont always happen
which is prob why the size of this game was actually the main problem tbh
well it only really becomes impossible for someone to win if all rivals are outted (because the possible max size groups will be able to form with this knowledge)
but if you assume everyone knows everyone’s rivals, then the definition of not being able to win would be “cannot be part of a federation of the maximum size possible” which in this game was 3, and silviu/squirrel could only do 2 so were guaranteed to lose
this was amplified by the fact there were only 8 people so everyone else could easily find 3 man combinations without much work
Hey
Silviu and I made a fed
…of two people, but still
I was on the road for 6 hours then had to settle in a hotel room
Sorry about being afk
