Netrunner Mafia - Game Over: Mala Tempora

Thanks for your help (sorry I said basically nothing lmao) and to Vul/Ash for being infinitely more townie than me throughout this game you’re v much appreciated

oh yeah can i ask why i was killed d1, cause according to Orange that means I did something right?

Haha I thrive off the benefit of the doubt :P
It was a nice surprise that casing Guava seemed to actually work on townies by the end of their lives. I was very much just trying to play the role of crazy townie my D3 sanity era was much unexpected
(for the record I thought it was fun to argue with you too Guava I just couldn’t fake it competently anymore haha)

We thought you were townie and had PR equity
It was either you or Guava and we decided Guava wasn’t PR (lolus)

V commendable performance for your first time as town nice job

…I have no idea why I gave that impression, but thanks ^^;

NP: GUAVA PLEASE YOU HAVE TO VOTE OR WE LOSE
Guava: :man_shrugging:t2: idk who it is man

I’m so glad you thought she was PR over me because this game was a blast

Also I think this continues my streak of every FM game where I’m town being a loss (which is all of them I’ve never randed wolf)

I was surprised to see you, wish I could’ve interacted more with you but timezones never align :frowning:

Yeah

outside of “very few people actually know how to read vulgard and thus no one really considered him when he actually had a chance of dying” i don’t think reads were really the issue here and i rescind the statement about the game being lost at rand… i already knew that was copium but yeah.

that said, i don’t really know what the main issue is outside of the classic “no one was really working together” moment. i mean the most open person to considering other reads was vulgard who was mafia. i’m not innocent either… in response to being tunneled i kind of curled up and only really worked by myself. i didn’t try to engage with anyone about my vulgard suspicion and no one else reconsidered their townread of him (until day 3), so this example works both ways.

i think people should have read more into me dying. i was a more or less consensus suspect and i flipped PR, it was pretty clear that whoever killed me both had a PR read on me and was confident enough to kill a suspected player… quite literally the only two people who discussed this/outted PR reads - ashlyn (before i died) and vulgard (after i died) - were mafia. it just kind of feels like a no-brainer +ev thing to think about regardless that people ignored.

uh… PR actions were kind of bad. there was not much logic to tracking kanave, they’d either openly claim roleblocked if they were lying or they would just visit the person they killed, nothing was really gained from targeting them regardless of their alignment. the n2 tree didn’t help… uh, i guess if you forget to act it’s probably an indicator that you aren’t putting enough thought into who you should be targetting. on my end idk if i’m supposed to be targeting a clear on nights-not-before-xylo and just hope wolves kill them? i guess my logic was that if wolves kill anyone else they are forced to give some kind of information, but kanave dying would be extremely bad, though idk if this was the correct thing to do. the shending shot was fine ig, i probably would have shot squirrel (i hadn’t seen the meta yet) or maybe NP (probably copium).

there’s prob other stuff that i can’t think of but these were the obvious ones

oh absolutely
the most damning thing for me is that i never hit a wolf, and i say that 100% genuinely
after eliza, kanave, AND flygon you should’ve speedexe’d me

Post Game Thoughts

I played like hot garbage and tunnelled 2 villagers. One for a majority of the game (Arctic) and one at the end (Squirrel)

Thoughts on Town Play

Ironically I think we played really well team play wise excluding day 1 and it was just the wolves were Townie and managed to get us miss executing.

Day 1 is I think where we struggled the most.
I was trying to push for many slots cause the player I strongly town read and myself was the main wagon contenders and I wanted to change it to a wolf.
Like I was trying to push more slots and get a wolf try to go in multiple directions.
I felt the only one really also trying to do that was a wolf themselves, Vulgard and that’s probably why I townread them so hard.
Also NONE of the wolves were touched as none were pressured or wagoned day 1 which was bad.

Thoughts on Wolf Play

Really good job to the wolves, they were Townie and I only wolf read each member once throughout the game.
Vulgard at the end and Penguin and Ash both during SoD2.

Vulgard -
I got pocketed by them and I usually don’t get pocketed by a wolf and I’m also good at reading the slots alignment so the fact I got it wrong this time for a majority of the game is sad.

Penguin -
I never really town read the slot day 1 and During SoD2 I felt like with the night kill and the Gauva wolf plus their town read on me it was likely he was attempting to try and pocket me and get me to vote a villager. They did have some moments where their slots did feel Townie though so.

Ashlyn - during SoD2 I felt their reads and main focus on the EoD1 wagons was bad, that is what pinged me at that slot in the game. Other then that I never found any of their other posts wolfy.
