as a former major proponent of the five minutes thing, I currently think it makes less sense now that we have the auto votecounter – with the old votecounter, it was pretty easy to fuck up and miscount, with the new one that’s much less likely

i think i prefer the 5 minutes so i have time to pull up the correct rolecard and make sure i dont screw up there and also make time to format stuff right
especially on chaotic EoDs

My general thoughts on this game:
Almost all of the pushes on scum this game came from other scum. This might be due to TMI, but I don’t think we were particularly unsolvable in any capacity, and I literally refused to read Vulgard because I felt like there was no real way to interpret the fully ISO as towny without cherry-picking and if a town member looked too far into it things would get fucked up real quick.
Part of the main issue, I think, was the low activity due to the postcap, as Proph mentioned, but also the focus on teams. Every single player was trying to make teams, and I genuinely think that’s a huge part of the reason that the game ended in a sweep. When you have constant ml’s, it’s reasonable to assume that there are wolves in the towncore. And, when you have wolves in the towncore, most team guesses will either be incorrect or potshots. I’m a massive fan of individual reading; conf-biasing yourself into a team is a very easy way for you to miss wolves, especially in XyLo situations, and for wolves to take advantage of your reads, which I did to a decently high extent this game. Even when you guys got to a 1/3 or 2/3 correct PoE, the wolves that weren’t in it pushed towards the incorrect member(s) of the PoE, d3 especially because we knew we wouldn’t have to deal with the consequences after it.
So, yeah. Stop basing every single solve off a team-build. Find a starting point. Re-eval when shit is going wrong (I admit some of my play was intentionally done to make re-evalling difficult, such as my massively skewed interpretation of D1 wagons making any consequential attempt look bad), especially when the poe is consistently turning out wrong.
Be around!! I know this is ironic and a bit hypocritical considering I missed EoD3 but I want to work on it too, and it’s a problem that more than I was exhibiting. Be around for EoDs, yeah, but also make sure to check in during the day. Actively seek out real-timing and ask questions when you want to hear the answers and make reads off of that. I agree with Proph; if Arctic had a strong villager to bounce reads off of during D2 rather than relying on mainly Vulgard and sometimes me, I think D2 could’ve ended in a wolf exe, which would’ve flipped the game on its head. I remember ninja at one point actually started getting pushed up before Vul showed up and pushed it back down.

i agree, but it’s again kind of activity-related in the same sense that people who are barely playing the game are hardly going to use their vote effectively or be proactive. i don’t really think there is a solution for people just not caring enough lol

GG wolves. Commiserations to the village.
Is Flygon an alt by chance?
