Vigilante in forum mafia is a town killing that can shoot at other people at night.

Vigilante can also have a modifier that they die when they shoot town as that was a thing before. The point here is that town can shoot at mafia at night if they guess correctly and don’t accidentally kill other town.

This is my 2nd/3rd game here (doing two at once)

My first game was a simple mafia and town game with no abilities or anything

Anyways, some common things here are:
*Doctor (usually it has “indecisive” meaning they can’t target the same person consecutively unlike bodyguard)
*Bodyguard (doesn’t kill target and if their target is targetted then the bodyguard dies instead, it can act every night)
*Motion Detector (it gives a notification if someone moved in or out of a person’s room)
*Ascetic (prevents all actions on you except getting killed)
*Roleblocker (it prevents the person from doing their night action, this is the most common power role you will see)
*Jailkeeper (protect and roleblock a person)
*Rolecop (check a player’s role)
*Sheriff (check a player’s alignment)
*Lookout (look who visits the target)
*Tracker (check where a person goes)
*Doublevoter (Secret +2 votes instead of 1)
*Universal Backup (become a dead player’s role)
*JOAT (it has 3 1-shot abilities)

Besides these from top of my mind, you can always check Category:Roles - MafiaWiki for role inspirations, but usually setup designers want can have some basic abilities.
