Wolves would be lusting hard at the idea of me blowing my shot early. It makes the game so much easier for them to play.
If I holster the shot, then it’s harder for them. If Era is a wolf does Era have to worry about healing their partner because I might shoot them rather than just healing the towniest slot to look good for Estelle? And if Era heals their partner, might that out them to Estelle? If Dubu is a wolf then does Dubu need to worry about blocking me? Does Rune need to worry about swapping? Does X need to worry about guarding? Half the slots in this game, if they’re wolves, would love the additional freedom of me not having my shot anymore. And so they can suck it, I’ll shoot when I damn well want to. And luckily for you all, I’m town, using my action in the optimal way, and I will not now or ever succumb to thread pressure, which is likely encouraged by wolves because of how much easier it makes their game. I’m not shooting just for the sake of shooting when I’m not confident in the shot. Not giving wolves a free kill AND turning myself into a VT LMFAO.
Okay, I didn’t realize that wolves have the whole “you can’t knock a player out another night” thing, so sure.
Either way, I still believe you should have shot since being at odds today would make D2 much better for us, and the situation you described is still relatively low, and made lower by the fact that the other low-probability ways the parity could be shifted negate that in some cases, leaving a low chance of your shot today, even if a miss, having a significant detrimental impact on town.
Holstering in your position is still a great move for wolves, and a dubious move for town.
If you think it’s dubious for town then, I’m sorry I lost all respect for your mech abilities
I also like how you double down on parity shifting as “low-probability” considering that’s a self-own given your role
Anyway, I’m being toxic, I’m going to take a break for a bit.
Sorry Dubu, love ya
Yes, the low-probability chance that I manage to either hit exactly the wolf making the kill or protect exactly the person being shot would cause just that. It isn’t a “self-own” to have a basic understanding of how odds work.
Thanks, I appreciate this. I was also a bit mean, and I apologize about that.
Water under the bridge as far as I’m concerned, if that’s good with you.
That happens all the time though, like doctor saves aren’t rare, and blocking the wolf carrying the shot isn’t rare either when it’s assigned and unable to be WIFOM’d. And this game has both a doc and a jailkeeper, In a small playerlist where the kills aren’t that hard to predict. And also a wolf dying affects parity. A wolf dying is a prerequisite to winning, therefore in any world where we win, parity will have been affected along the way.
I’m a bit curious as to why you weren’t on Juliette anyway - her action seems to be a day action and therefore there’s no downside to her being roleblocked. Seems like a free person to protect, especially given how most people in the thread thought she was townie
yea i dont think holstering is antitown and that we shouldn’t obsess about odd/even this early in game when there are other variables.
I have Atlas Dubu Drekar Estelle as town
was kind of mixed about Estelle early on because they were proactive but I didn’t get town vibes but i associate the mech ideas with town. They also seems to be the only person to try to talk seriously about mech ironically.
Scum in Rune Ai.Mi Luna Era Juno
would be most inclined to vote Rune at the moment (again for basically not remembering anything they said) Luna belongs in that category too but they felt more tonally pure. Don’t remember Ai.Mi’s posts either but might be solvable via their info.
Juno’s tunnel on kai thinking he was 100% wolf was bad but not actually wolfy and Juno’s pushes have felt authentic. Null/town
I’ve seen this setup played enough to know that mechanics wise, wolves would prefer a later shot, not an early one. The reason for this is simple: N1 is the only night where you can be nigh certain that (unless you fucked up and executed Estelle D1 or they died N1 (and wolves can’t even communicate so that point is moot)) that your action will likely succeed.
During N1, you know that other people know that fucking around with you will likely not end up well mechanics wise for them - there are many ways to be caught fucking around N1. The longer the game goes on, the easier it is for wolves to fuck with the vigilante.
The argument that you are a VT after you shoot is moot - you are a VT until you shoot too. And the night you shoot, you don’t want your power to be fucked up.
I’m getting off track though. Drask, may I ask you for who you would have shot if you were to shoot N1? I noticed you were giving Atlas the stink eye yesterday, as well at Slime Girl.
This is important question for figuring out if you are town or just a wolf
Nice attempt to intimidate. Not going to work.
You do make a good argument though for using the shot sooner than later, I’ll take it into consideration
rip

I can confirm that Drask didn’t actually kill anyone. I cannot confirm whether he tried to kill anyone though - which was the reason I wanted to clarify what Drask did. My initial thought was that Draskk actually shot and failed to kill Atlas - if you look at his posts, it’s clear he was giving Juno/Atlas the stink eye yesterday, and I do know that Atlas wouldn’t have died if he was shot last night.
duba do ur voodoo magic and reveal all the wolves kthx
It’s ok, he was a dissenter. We got him for sure
Dubu visited Atlas, I think it’s a townie action
Too late!
