Why is Luna so obviously town?

This is one thing I feel I can confidently say about this game at present, so I’m going to choose to focus on this over other things.

I’m not sure why you think I’d feel pressured to throw out a town read at SOD when it was mostly emotes being posted. It seems like a generic read that sounds good on the surface but is kinda lazy and not really considering the context of the game

I think this is more likely to come from town than wolf. When reacting to pressure, wolves are more likely to get defensive, and especially to try to overjustify everything they do. They have the opposite reaction. It’s a minor thing but these things can be telling.

Similarly, just not trying to force things early on. It’s another common trap for wolves to try to push reads early that don’t exist.

I think it’s a bit lazy but I’m trying not to be too harsh because

1. it’s on me and as a rule I’m trying to be open-minded toward sus on me instead of just assuming the person’s a wolf
2. I can see Estelle latching onto a generic* wolftell just for the sake of getting things rolling
3. In the world where Estelle is town, I want to make wolves work for the mislunch

The one thing that gives me pause is how Estelle came back and said something to the tune of, “I reread Lune’s post and I want to ask what they even meant by ‘the right amount of caution.’” There was just a kinda sloppiness to it and usually wolves will have the reasoning at the forefront of their minds when they make a push as opposed to coming back to the thread like, “oh I missed this part that makes the person scummy.”

Basically this is similar to what Atlas said about Estelle moving the goalposts but it’s a thought that moving the goalposts might be towny because in my experience townies tend to be less organized than wolves

Then their response to me where they doubled down on their initial sus that has me seeing some stubbornness to their approach. I’m ruminating on the possibility of it being towny stubbornness. The read is still developing and they could simply be a wolf as is being explored right now, but this is me thinking on the other possibility

I also want town to know that all of my reads/thoughts are a lot more fluid than they probably appear

• = when I say generic I don’t mean this in a negative way, I just mean the concept of having those general tells for both scum/town we all have

I think this is another good comment, this is a moment when they’re transitioning into the scumhunting phase after the initial part of D1, another area where wolves fuck up and tend to be very awkward. I don’t see Luna exhibiting that, I see them giving nuanced reads and developing thoughts much more smoothly than I’d expect a wolf to.

I like their naked vote on Rune at #328. This is awfully bold from a wolf to start a wagon without leadup, and iirc there was very little buzz about Rune prior to this. I think this comes from a townie more often. This is a theme with how I feel about Luna- I don’t think anything they’re doing is outside of a hypothetical wolf range, I just think they’re consistently acting in a >rand townie fashion, and that adds up.

I could go on but it’s really gone be a lot of “oh, this post is good, and this one, and this one” because I think a lot of their posts are good.
