I seem to remember there was a theory going round that the mystery extra votes are because of bad deeds the slot may have performed. Unless I’m remembering it incorrectly.

I think that might be the case… but I’m unsure what those “bad deeds” are other than maybe saying the forbidden words? Maybe there are more hidden rules to do with it?
Ah I have an idea about the bad deeds part. There might be a role which can check someone’s record of deeds and maybe that’s where the extra votes comes from. Yet that would be pre game and I don’t think any role I’ve seen so far acts pre game.
