It is absolutely lowering the game quality, I think I made this stance p clear in the game
I’m going to assume Marshal’s entire charade of feeling mistreated by me was fake since they were 1. mafia and 2. only started talking about it when Moonwink did
That entire sequence served no purpose but to use personal attacks and ATE to guilt trip me and others out of wolfreading them (it failed since I’ve played with Marshal enough, but still). I have pretty thick skin but those posts did upset me and would have upset me more if I didn’t think they were entirely fake since I wolfread Marshal. The problem is this sort of behaviour/strategy is rewarded, because people kept reading into it and townreading them for it. This will encourage people to do it more in future games regardless of alignment just to get townread. The same stuff can be said for any villager which ATE’d this game and got townread for it. So the thread state is actively worsened and made into a toxic environment so people gain a personal advantage and it makes the game unplayable at times

I don’t have a solution yet, other than generally being more strict on ATE rules but I’ll probably think of something

Also, the way trochi handled people not believing his claim was actively terrible and lingers on being unacceptable

You can’t just fling around the f bomb against everyone who doubts your claim is real, spamming stuff like “the fuck do you expect me to do?” “i was stuck with this fucking role”
I don’t see how posts to this effect are constructive in any way and they just makes the game terrible to play in

fwiw (non mod opinion just Arete opinion) I would be very hesitant to hold this against Marshal because, given that villagers were ATEing, it puts wolves in a position where they kind of have to

I agree that excessive ATE lowers game quality, I guess the thing I’m trying to figure out is … how often is it an issue, I don’t read every game on FoL lol

one thing I noticed you saying a lot today was that you’d had initially wrong reads, and realized they were probably wrong, and stuck with them anyway because you didn’t want to have been wrong

and I think that ‘instead of doing that, don’t do that’ would be relatively easy while improving your play significantly

lots of people are wrong, but if you’re wrong, and you encounter evidence to the contrary, and dig in your heels, that makes you more wrong then if you change your mind

Okay my impression of your play this game was that you didn’t care about how well you did because I don’t think you were trying very hard but if you contest this precondition then yeah fair enough
