This is really on my mind tho; Solic’s push on you, like…makes sense from the perspective of someone returning. my home site used arguments like that 8 days of the week like ~5 years ago. it doesn’t really allow room for people to have individual playstyle quirks & isn’t all that likely to catch scum in a reasonably skilled plist but I’m not sure I’d expect someone recently returning to know that?

But I also wouldn’t expect scum recently returning to know not to push that?
But Solic feels like, a little unaligned.

i’ll put back a couple of ways: for the criticism of Leafia’s read, i don’t think conventional wisdom should ever, ever be taken more seriously than one’s own reads.

more importantly, for how it impacts my read on you: we’re playing a game in which Leafia is either town or scum. my job, + yours if you’re also town, is to discern which one Leafia is. Leafia made a decision to back her read and (as I assume it) acknowledge, and then disregard conventional wisdom. That’s a game-related decision she’s made, and likely a decision she’s made to either 1) mature her read on Brad; or 2) look like she’s town.

I don’t think that ignoring conventional wisdom in favour of one’s own read is a scum indicator. I don’t know why you think that Leafia has scum motivation in abandoning conventional wisdom. I understand your point that Leafia’s analysis skips something fairly rudimentary; I’m positing that I don’t think it’s an indicator of scum motivation from Leafia. I think she just likes her read more than she backs conventional wisdom.

For the rest of your post. I think progression being off can tell you something about alignment. If it’s wildly off, it can indicate town for lack of caring about appearance. If it tracks amazingly then I’d say it’s more likely town. In the middle of that, where you notice slight discrepancies, I think it’s more likely scum.

Note I did see that Brad and Leafia discussed that she would reread him, so the fact that that happened is really obvious to me, just not that it would lead to such a starkly different conclusion. If I was fully sure she’d be scum, I’d have voted her for it.

I think Leafia is now just voting me, because I’m not townreading everything she has done, which is … annoying.

It’s a possibility but I suspect that that list has 1 possibly two wolves in it. Main suspects being Lol and Beancat.

Not exactly sure what you mean by that but I think independently of each other. Lol has been off all game and with Beancat it’s more of a tinfoil really. I wouldn’t be surprised either way.

Hmm the only experience I’ve had with scum Leafia is that she’d flip on a dime to her scum partners in order to look good as a pusher. It’d not be weird to me if she decided to bus day 1 and then seeing when there was no appetite day 2, calm down on that.

In the town game that I played with her (I think I only played 2 games with Leafia), we were both town and she just tunneled me the whole game even when I claimed PR. She was very consistent there and never changed her mind. That doesn’t seem like a sustainable playstyle, so I’d hope that at least she has changed from that. I actually pointed that out here. It’s one thing to say something and another to practice it though.
