I think you could have phrased it more along the lines of:
‘When Player X is Town, they play great. They kill Mafia, and die early. So I don’t feel like pushing Player X because odds are they’re Town anyway and self-resolving.’
I think some players get offended at ‘trust tells’ and playing somewhere along those lines, which is why you got that reaction

i think you’ll find i don’t really do ~coasting~. if you scroll down to frog asking me if i’d been towny so far. generally i agree i start games performatively. if everyone posts exactly as they’d act we’ll have a lovely chat and not a game of mafia. if someone pops in and does flashy things and people react to it life is a whole bunch spicier.
largely digress though this read is literally fine.

You’re right, I could’ve put it like that if I was thinking. I might’ve gotten annoyed and responded by being petty.
I don’t really call them “trust tells” either because they keep unpolarizing themselves more and more so even if I try to read them it ends up messing me up. So default to townread it is.
