You are a wolf largely because of your opportunism in voting for both Zorvo and Jarek. I know, I know, opportunism is a commonly-thrown-around buzzword, but it’s often felt that your vote is placed more out of a sense of obligation toward the thread than creative solving. It’s like… you see a case, you see consensus, and go “I should check that out if all those townies agree”. Your readlist, when it happened, was safe and generally in line with thread consensus, and you didn’t even provide your own reasoning for those reads.
The specific post was that you said that my headposting was scummy “if you think about it really hard”. That’s a phrase that distances yourself from your own opinion in a way that wolves love - it felt like you were putting a thought out there to see if other people, ideally townies, would “bite” on pushing the people who were going after you.
Everything that happens on D1 is bait. There is just not enough information to be completely confident on the cases you’re making, so I just… push whatever seems informative, then gauge the way people treat it (arguably, I do this the entire game). The Jarek scumcase being bait doesn’t mean it wasn’t, at least in part, serious in the moment, it just means that I was entirely willing to pivot off of it if someone reacted in a way that I thought was suspicious.
Taking the game entirely seriously 100% of the time is unnecessary. Revealing all of your reasons for something 100% of the time is unnecessary. People are free to pressure me to talk more if they’d like, but I think it’s informative to not provide full details and see what they press on - it betrays their sense of attention, which is great for hunting partnerships. My vote on Jarek was not a meme, it was a means to an end, and that end was suspecting you (not to imply that’s the end of the road for my view of the game, just that it’s where I’m at right now).
RVS literally means Random Voting Stage.
It was a… random vote.
Like, I don’t really mind if you like it or not, there was no purpose behind the actual vote.
Im not particularly sure you know what opportunistic is, because one I’m not a wolf, or that read isn’t as strong as you think it is, because one, I have zero reason to hedge around the Zorvo read in the way I am, if I am wolfy, waffling between townie and wolfie, and I dont even think its something that naturally happens. I also didn’t know we make walls about people being a wolf, and have such low confidence in our ability, that we call out the person who votes them, opportunistic, that says a lot about you doesn’t it, if you are town. Though the difference between me, and you, is even if I dont have confidence on something, I dont waste my time making a read and claiming, “It was just a prank bruv”
I say my reads how they are, if you go through any of my town games, you will see I love to use that line of thought, but again, not really a wolf tell, because Im not a wolf, so twice, already u’ve wasted ur time calling things wolfy, and they are wrong. So maybe u shouldn’t have confidence in your reads. I’ve seen so many hydra’s literally shit on each other’s reads, and flip wolf, like this isn’t just a one off thing, and if I thought it meant anything more, I wouldnt use “think about it really hard”. What town bite? this town? half the players probably dont even care about anyone else’s reads but their own, and vote in a self centered manner
Everything that happens Day 1 is not bait. There is not enough information, well make the information, you shade the one person being confident in regards to their push on Wolves. and you waste time making a wolf read, drop it because they yell at you, then shade the people who agreed with you, like what are you on
I think a good balance is needed to enjoy any game, but I also think 75% shit posting, isn’t helping any one, ever. To each their own in regards to revealing all their info, I think its better on day 1. Means to an end, keep telling yourself that.
Regardless or not if I keep believing you are town, I dont believe you have any idea what you are doing. now that is shade
Eh, I think it was still an alright post even if in the end it was bait because it actually looked ok nevertheless tbh.
Nothing’s wrong with asking questions, it’s a way to be able to get more out of certain players and some slots do not really do much which is AI unless they’re specifically answering questions, so it’s possible to get content that way. I just feel like with Dum I wanted to see more from them earlier on than just asking questions.
Also I didn’t really think their Zorvo analysis was helpful, it was just a fairly basic statement of Zorvo and not really any statement of good / evil reads on them either way.
I mean I had nothing really to go off at the time and I’m still not much of a fan of the Dum slot.
We have to try and read early posts but the start of the game wasn’t exactly a haven for getting actual town or scum reads on certain slots.
is this something you expect from their town game?
you say “fair” analysis, but that assumes you have that same general vibe in regards to Zorvo, right? I’d expect you to come out with a mindmeld read on them, and not continue to shade them
ya shit posting and being wrong is a staple of this site, and trying to figure out which LHF is wolf and which is town is always fun, but I am currently trying to get better at finding these LHF, since I back to back lost both my hydra games, because I completely misread a bunch of the LHFs
I feel like Dum was one of the better players from what I remember so I kind of expected more from them as a slot in general.
As for the ‘fair’ analysis, I merely meant that Zorvo is indeed more analytical and enjoys mech too. Dum’s analysis did not lead to any conclusion on whether or not Zorvo is town which is… irritating to me, it feels as if it was a hedge but overall mostly correct. I don’t have to townread someone just because they seem to agree with me on how a player appears, like, I think he’s right but it didn’t make Dum automatically town.
what is wrong with hedging? I am not currently seeing the point of that post, but in a general sense, I could probably argue its just shade on the game state, which seems to be very common so far. Also you should be town leaning people who align with you, because that means you are under the same mindset, which if you are town, should ring a bell in your head saying, “this slot is probably town as well”
… I’m not sure this conversation is entirely productive. We’re talking past each other, and I’m not really seeing what you intend to achieve here.
I think you’re misinterpreting what I’ve said about dropping the Jarek vote. It was not “just a prank”, and the fact that I’ve not continued to push it at the moment doesn’t mean it was all for nothing. It just means that I think I’ve found a more productive line of questioning elsewhere, at least for the time being. Voting around is how I seek to create information on D1s.
And I think the comment about us having “no idea what we’re doing” was… unnecessary, and counterproductive. Please keep in mind that I am composed of two people, and that when you “shade” our gameplay, I, as an individual, am much more likely to react defensively, because you are also insulting my friend by doing so.
It’s not a productive line of questioning to make me drop my scumread, nor is it a productive line of questioning to make others drop potential scumreads on you.
