The wall really didn’t do much for me for either arete’s or marshal’s alignments
The post didn’t feel bad faith but I can plausibly see arete picking up on those things regardless of their alignment, but my main concern is the way in which they recognize a lot of these things aren’t actually wolfy for Marshal but keeps it mostly on the down low. Not in the sense that it’s wolfy damage control, more in the sense that it kinda shows they are aware some of these things don’t really mean much more Marshal’s alignment (such as not being willing to hear people out, making conclusions first, and generally being tunneled/confbiased) but still factors them in any way. It’s not explicitly wolfy because I expect wolf arete to have an awareness of what they can get away with pushing things as actually AI for Marshal given their experience, but it basically renders the case unconvincing in this regard

i kinda feel this except the part about it being unconvincing because it did convince me for the time being but that could be because i suck and arete is still a wolf

i think the main points made sense but if other people who know marshal well aren’t convinced then maybe not

i think like, if marshal is a wolf, she did a good job getting thread control, but if i’m honest with myself her posts did kinda drop off in overall quality after a bit, like that one post of arete quotes where she uses the same line over and over to discredit arete’s “setting up a progression” or whatever, it was kinda flippant and showy in emphasizing a single point in the way i feel like a push from a wolf often can be

arete’s early posts were just wolfy and their focus hasn’t been as wide as i’d expect from village them while marshal’s approach on a macro level has been wolfy, which is why i think there is probably always a wolf here

i started reading the case in detail and it actually reminded of me of why i was townreading marshal in the first place

i liked a ~lot of the way she was pushing her early reads, wrt like, how her confidence ebbed and flowed and how she was reacting to people’s takes on her pushing arctic/vul

you even recognized in the post that it was important, so what was the purpose of RT’ing me when i was already one of your top towns? if you believed the matter to be important would you not consider it more useful to establish a meaningful rapport with one of your top villagers instead of doing a pointless RT

the only thing suggesting you could be telling the truth is that the read was so bad you’d have probably come up with something better as a wolf, but that’s basically a TWTBAW argument… i know you’re champze but still, it wouldn’t be impossible for you just have a really sucky progression here, especially because you haven’t really elaborated on your marshal read all game afaik

…I doubt it? Someone who has more of a grasp of the thread can correct me on this, but based on how Marshal and Arete present themselves and how they play, I see little reason for what happened here to have happened if they were both wolves.

i read over vulgard’s wallpost again and i’m locking him town for at least the next 3 phases
the vibes, the sentiment, the emotion
it reminds me of my wallpost in hydra popcorn where i expressed my contempt for the (incorrect) consensus and begged for the^3 to shoot seth/sonic instead of cheese
it comes from someone who truly believes they are being wrongfully drowned out and ignored rather than someone who is trying to push agenda against the consensus and failing, because the focus is on “you should have listened to me” rather than “you ought to do this now”

think i agree with you on vulgard now as well. his whole thing about the threadstate being largely wrong sounded like righteous indignation and the frustration of a villager who’s not being listened to and thinks the game is on the wrong track, and his general ~ post shape ~ (lol) is not what i’d expect to come from w!vulgard based on my experience with w!vulgard

Whether or not the Switch Remake is better than the DX version totally depends though. Both good.

Using my last post to say that @Marshall you are obvious town and Arete is (in my highly opinionated opinion) clearly a wolf.

I won’t let you die, dw. Someone call this whiteknighting or powerwolfing, if you want.

Bottom 5 names are the only ones on the table today and I’ll make sure it happens. If I were you I wouldn’t get too caught up in the “it must be Arete” mindset today. Maybe I’m reading into it too much but I think there are better picks in the above quote. But a wolf is a wolf and that’s one of the most likely, so we can go there if we want.

having said that the post just feels individually wolfy for JC
discouraging marshal from focusing on arete just feels bad faith but i can’t really explain what the wolf motivation is so i guess it doesn’t really matter but still
