Because of this:
I think the way Derps approached Lucky was not partnered. Lucky was consistently a top wagon, and I find it unlikely that Derps would avoid giving a read on his partner when he was top wagon, despite being pressured to do so. If he had taken a stance, he could have either potentially saved Lucky or gotten credit from bussing.
