u know how i get about mechanics. Im mechanicphobic. I dont think they should be allowed near my normal games. They have to stay over there as “special”
mechanicphobism
Yeah well I’m youphobic
D:
plead plead plead
I wish to play that game. Not co-host it.
Sorry.

Me when I have been trying to create a Special game since, like, August, and it has still not materialized.
How do people write games fast?
writing certain games takes longer then others
depending on if youre making roles up, using a template, etc.
It’s not so hard in my opinion, you just need to follow this steps:
1 having an idea
2 trying to write down your ideas, in the way others will understand as well.
3 check if there is anything which could he improved, is there anything wrong with your game
4 correct anything you can/ask others if they have a solution for your problem.
5 repeat 3 and 4
6 you should have a game at this point.
Alternatively you can change step one and two from having an idea and writing down your idea to “get influenced” by someone else’s idea and “repurpose” their their setup.
(This way you can skip step 3 to 5)
Let’s just say I’m an anomaly. Heck, even I am delaying the “Many Systems Setup” because of how stupidly complex it is.
(Zone is lying. The setup simply has macro-mechanics from games he has yet to host, so he isn’t planning on making any roles until all of those games are run. Which isn’t happening any time soon.)
During these periods of low players
why don’t setup designers compete to have their setup run
and the people that actively want to play a game, vote on the game run?
I think having competition as well would eliminate setups that just shouldn’t really run ever in their current states
Also if you do this and extend it to every setup you can eliminate the reviewer’s responsibility to make sure setups are fun, and typically their ability to judge this isn’t perfect, so they can focus entirely on balance, because that check would go to the actual players
I would say this would also shorten the queue but its literally only Zone’s setups that are in the queue
but maybe he would actually benefit himself from a competition against his own setups
So basically, put Zone’s games through a genetic algorithm.
woukd be interesting to see what it spits out
fwiw if Zone wanted to run his setups in a different order that would be 100% fine
I will admit, the idea of a competition being from the same creator so he always wins is very funny. We could nominate him for the host that wins the most setup polls.
So what, like… make a poll to check if anyone is interested, and if it hits enough numbers, we run that game?
I mean, it would work on [any games canned due to lack of players] and [any closed setups], but otherwise the hosts would have to post the OPs to attract the players.
