i enjoy the return back to 2 queues, the main thing is none of the vanilla (and esp the “vanilla”) games really interest me besides the multivote mountainous lmao. The ones in queue, at least.

The vanilla queue has been kinda full of “nonstandard FM experiences” for a while now, a lot of Purgatory and Popcorn and Combinatorics and lost wolf stuff, with the special queue games often feeling more like normal FM than the average vanilla queue one. IDK if it’s necessarily a strictly bad thing but it feels like it doesn’t match the stated intent of the queues

im scared of hosting on fol my hosting style is messy / scuffed. its not tidy and everyone else is so tidy. but id love to see more people play. maybe i could get over it and put in some vanilla vanilla games in the queue, if people wanna play those

honestly dont stress over it much, I’ve found it’s generally rather difficult to scuff a game to the point it’s unfun

hosting isn’t really that hard, especially with vanilla games where you don’t need to really answer questions about mech and make complex rulings.

on the syndicate there were multiple queues, and they made an extra queue exlusively for 9v2 mountainous, and that one filled instantly, there was always a 9v2 mountainous game running

n those can be good and fun everyone now and then, but typically if im playing FM (with exceptions like mashes and stuff) i want a fairly simplistic experience and something I can easily understand bc I enjoy the social part of the game. when i open a game and see a ton of stuff in the OP my eyes glaze over
