Hello nerds, I am here to discuss with you the game of masks, truth or perhaps deceit.
The battle to be the last remaining survivor!
16 of you from different walks of life seek to be the last person alive in this game.
Perhaps you come to the venue this is being hosted for because you want power? Who knows.
Anyway…
There’s 4 phases.
Challenge Phase where people can challenge others to a duel or a dance (every role will have positions which dictate where they are on both lists), during this phase people accept them or can use a deny to deny the challenge if they really want to for some reason… you may also nochallenge.
Action Phase, which I might replace with the ‘Study Phase’ is perhaps just the most boring phase in the game. Some roles can act. Usually it’s just manipulating results of challenges. If Study Phase is used instead, everyone can send in a hypothetical challenge between any 2 players and receive the result for what that challenge would end up as. E.g. ‘Hypothetical Duel between Hippo and Kiiruma. Kiiruma wins’
Voting Phase, in every voting phase the results of the challenges (after they’ve been messed with) will be displayed and every VP but the first people get to vote on a player to execute. Some roles can act during this phase. There’s the royal who gets an anonymous second vote they can use on anyone, they’re also able to force a person eligible to be executed… to be executed. A man-at-arms who gets to kill those who’ve lost a challenge. There’s a court jester who can skip the entire phase. And the poisoner who gets to poison someone (who may die in Dinner Phase). You can also redeem 1 gift for each challenge you participated in.
Dinner Phase where people can swap plates and guess people. Some roles can act this phase, there’s a barbarian who can force someone to nochallenge and auto accept every challenge against them (the target of this is publicly announced in thread), there’s a blackmailer who can force someone to challenge or they just die (this is privately announced).
You can submit a guess, if you guess someone’s role and you’re right, they die. If you guess wrong but a gift you took was a free guess, you live. If you didn’t take a free guess then you guess someone… then that counts as a ‘death stake guess’, if you’re wrong… you die. If someone took a gift of guess immunity, they cannot be guessed. If someone has a poisoned plate, they die.
Every role has an ability, some are stronger than others. I have a bias personally for some over others. It’s really fun. People can make alliances as long as the host (me) is in them but there can only ever be one winner. Use your ability wisely and use the powers of deduction that you gamers should have from so much FM/FoL playing.
