AP Human Geography
Basically AP World Politics but they need to make it sound like some neutral study so
i thought that was called biology
fun fact AP Bio doesn’t teach you that much about human biology
“AP” classes, short for “Advanced Placement,” are a type of classes common in America. They are designed to simulate the rigor of (typically, but not always) a semester-long course that someone would take in their first year of college (university). (How closely they actually simulate this is debatable, and depends on the course + what college you attend.)
After taking a course, high school students are allowed to take the “AP test,” a test designed to demonstrate that they actually learned the things they were supposed to. AP tests are scored out of 5, with a score of 3 or higher considered “”"“passing”""". Most AP tests consist of both multiple-choice and free-response questions (which may be shortish questions, essays, or both, depending on the exam).
Some, though not all, colleges offer college credit and/or course placement for some, but not necessarily all, AP tests. Depending on the specific college + the AP test, they may have a different score cutoff for what score you need to get credit/placement. There are a lot of different ways of implementing this and if you were an American I’d tell you to check the individual policies of the colleges you were applying to.
It is allowed to take an AP test without taking the associated course. In most cases, this will be considered equivalent to taking the course and the test for the purpose of gaining college credit.
