Secret Palpatine - Completed - Jedi (Whysper, Jarek, Jane, AtNoName, Squirrel, Crichard) Win

no

we’re still waiting on election results

wtf

but
someone was elected literally at the start of the game aa

yeah, we’re either waiting for everyone to vote
or we’re waiting because hosts are offline

not sure which

its a combination of time, definition conflict (what people find towny is scummy to other), and fps or mech

@Whysper

A good time to ask your opinion on peoples mech discussion.

take your time

Well, the mech discussions seem to focus around 2 points

  1. Whether Palpatine would try to go UTR and avoid conflict to get voted, or if they would be more pushy

  2. Whether Sith would try to push Sith policies early or just Jedi policies for now to look good later

Votes being tallied

For 1, I guess I could see how many people would go the route of avoiding conflict early to be presentable for voting later. Like that would definitely be the way I’d go. However, I could see certain players like Wazza or Jarek asking to be voted regardless.

And I think the Palpatine becoming Chancellor for a win only works later? If so, I could definitely see where a player might push to become Chancellor earlier, vote some Jedi policies to look good, and then present themselves to be voted as Chancellor again later.

Palpatine wins if he’s elected beyond the 3rd red card.

As for 2, I would definitely be surprised to see Sith policies early. That would be pretty risky. But again, I suppose certain players could get away with convincing people that it was just the bad luck of the cards.

I’m not sure I like how I’ve heard it said to be suspicious of people later defending themselves as having voted Jedi policies. That almost sounds like setting up to basically be suspicious of anyone. I mean, a true Jedi would have voted Jedi policies and would certainly be right in defending themselves. I suppose the point was more with how the player says it. But then that comes down to mainly reading the player and not mech.

So we can speak if I’m not Jane/Amelia?

Yeah, I believe so. I thought maybe that was missing a “not”, especially after Jane actually did speak. But the OP does say the Vice Chair and Chancellor can’t speak in this phase, so I guess that means everyone else can.

Well it ends up depending on effort

I think high-effort players would attempt 1 option while the low effort players would attempt option 2

Of course some people like to switch things up, or be lazy.

Yeah, I could see that. I think most players are going to be more cautious at the start even if they’ve played before since the forum version could play out differently.

I think the only players I could see trying something tricky early would be Wazza, Jarek, or Isolde.

I see altho reading Isolde is like reading a novel for kids. Its long and exciting, but when you analyse it, it’s actually very easy to understand and boring. It’s mostly why I don’t care about what he says because hes trying to recite the SH textbook while I’m here trying to play mafia.

As for Wazza and Jarek, they’re prob the slots where it takes some policy passes to see where they’re at.

While I’m leaning towards CRich as Jedi, I am also reminded of a game I played with him where he was a neutral killer. He talked a lot of mech and also seemed very agreeable. So some of the way he started presenting himself here reminded me of that. I know Palpatine is not really a neutral, but he is like a lone wolf and has somewhat similar play I’ve assume of staying in the middle ground.
