mmmmmmm
have not heard of this tell
that being said, if I’ve done my math right, there’s about a 64% chance that 4 randomly chosen players have one or more wolves, in a game with 12 town and 3 scum (ie the champs games)
so I’d be interested in whether this actually happens at a >rand rate
arctic wrote something similar about me early on in the Sorc17er (we were t/t)
Cause I had started writing that I hated the post but then thought about it for a moment and decided I didn’t hate it
And then I felt the need to post that instead

Hello! I’ve backread everything, but I won’t be able to respond to anything / explain my thoughts for a bit. Give me 3 hours minimum, 8 hours maximum. Ty!
Mkay lemme ISO them real quick…
Hmm…Guava’s stances seem ok/reasonable to me.
this looks fake
I find it a little hard to imagine that someone types the first sentence, then does their ISO, reaches a conclusion, then goes back and types the second sentence while also having a “hmmm” in it
feels like the conclusion was chosen before the ISO was done (also I’m not a big fan of the points made analyzing the ISO but that’s more minor imo)

But Arctic hadn’t rlly defended himself yet when you made this read
do you actually believe this? this feels like incredibly lazy. do you not think i would want people to hypo as town?
He snapped at you a bit. Called your read “incredibly lazy”. It’s not actually self-defence in this case, but defensive is the word I used. Aggressive might be a better word? Short-tempered? I dunno. They sound more rude. I don’t mean to be rude.
i see
I…don’t think Guava made a proper read in that post, either? Them saying “Cait is new and don’t know what they’re doing” isn’t an explicit “Cait is town” or “Cait is wolf” read.
Right, but it doesn’t really matter how strong the stance they actually took was, just, like… their presentation. “Content” might be a better word than reads. She usually starts out with casual commentary instead of starting out with a paragraph.
I remember having a thought on Zugzwang but it must not have been a memorable thought
Towny
But I also just remember May being like this in the game I played with them before so maybe it’s NAI
I did say this!!!
call me crazy but this doesn’t seem experimental at all you just made some reads and explained them
Have you seen my recent towngames? Making some reads and explaining them instead of saying a bunch of bullshit oneliners is experimental.
So you’re saying…if Arctic gets too “defensive” he’s likely town, whereas if he’s wolf he’ll…what? In what way do you think wolf!Arctic would react there?
Also, is Arctic not aware of this “tell”? If he is, why do you think he’s unable to take advantage of it?
I haven’t played with w!Arctic recently, I don’t know. I’m not confident on this tell, it’s just an observation. But if my theory holds, he tends to make comments about people’s play/skill level as town because he gets frustrated at people doing what he perceives as bad play, and doesn’t imitate this as wolf cause it’s 1. a bit of a dick move to fake and 2. tends to make people annoyed with him in turn and increase the likelihood that he’ll be voted out.
What I do know is that Arctic has said many times he doesn’t perfectly imitate his towngame as wolf, he doesn’t need to, that would be counterproductive, he just needs to do what lets him stay alive and get misexecutions. Which is why I think this might be part of it.
you DO seem like the type of person who wants a challange for no reason and being townread doesn’t sound very challanging
I play mafia because I love arguing with people and debate club didn’t pan out for health reasons
