you don’t have to be there
But some people want to be there (and it is generally +EV for you to be able to get online at EOD, regardless of alignment)
ig its just not that important to me as it is for others
36 hours is a shorter day phase which I don’t like. More time proportionally is going to be spent in the night phase, in mountainous, when there’s absolutely zero to do. The SoD and EoD times being inconsistent throws off my mental schedule and makes it difficult to have a good sense for when the phases are starting or ending. It is literally impossible for somebody to be able to consistently make both SoD and EoD times, and just adjusting sleep schedule for the game doesn’t work either. It sucks
Most people just don’t join games they can’t make SoD/EoD for, so I don’t think 36/24 adds much interest at all. Usually the majority of people are able to there for phase start and end. You’re forcing people to be unavailable as a game mechanic when in a normal game they’d be majority available
/Out. Yeah. Don’t like the inconsistant EoD SoD times either.
I dont think SoD availability matters at all unless its a 12/12 mash where you might get dayvigged / ita’d soon which is ran only on MU. EoD availability is the only one that matters (for win con). 36/12 is my favorite time frame
Meanwhile Zone: “I don’t join because mountainous.”
Ok
eh
I think SOD availability can matter some amount, particularly as a wolf
If you’re online at SOD you’re the first one to put out a narrative, and if you can be convincing, then you control the dominant narrative from the start
Whereas if you’re not online at SOD, and people have already made new opinions, now you have to push against them, which is harder
just don’t be a wolf then.
easier said than done… looks at the 2 consecutive wolf rands I just had
skill issue
I dont think ive noticed bias in the first person speaking being listened to more than the people who speak after
But maybe it could matter for wolfing i dunno im not a wolf main im a town main and it doesnt matter at all for towning
not quite “first person to speak” but more of “first person to significantly try to control what happens during the day”
mostly true thbthtbthbthbthtb
Except for, like, LYLO and such
i’m of the opinion that, at least for establishing the tempo and general relationships, the start of the game is pretty important. what happens on subsequent days, not as much, imo.
(Forgot to finish my thought because I had to take an orgo exam) Like when I ask people to play a mafia game usually their first question is “oh when’s SoD/EoD, I’m down if I can make it”. That’s the thing that makes 36/24 frustrating: it’s ~impossible to be able to have all EoDs aligned with your schedule, which is worse even than 36/12 (in which you can at least choose to be able to regularly make EoDs if not SoDs)
Not Icet
we got 24 hours to fill this game… (i dont think its gonna happen)
