also very minor thing (i doubt it matters) but i wont allow people to bid for more than 99 total during the auction phase (i thought about letting higher total bids and letting people die but that doesnt sound good)
i feel like you and i have different ideas with what we wanted this to be.
I mean I had to alter it pretty significantly because otherwise itâs super, super unfair lol.
tbf it depends on the severity of the typing style. something could be very easy to mess up could in turn be more drastic.
but i get your point
i take pride in this.
For starters, a typing restriction is going to be quite easy to deal with no matter how you slice it. If itâs a self-imposed one, something like doubling your own health is incredibly unfair.
It makes a lot more sense to do towards someone else, crippling THEIR communication instead of voluntarily doing it to your own.
per this phrasing this can be used on hosts right
the idea was it was host imposed.
hold on im trying to think of a way that yâall can get tutuu to say something dumb after every sentence
i disagree. the smallest of restrictions the more easier you are the slip up or forget. you gotta remember this game doesnt start and end in a hour
I also think the arbitrary nature is also not easy to balance
My restriction would be "Other player cannot say any word theyâve already said this game, since that adds more of an actual restriction than some homestuck thing
I promise, in 90% of scenarios it doesnât get broken. Look at forum mafia typing restrictions. I would say 90% of them do nothing.
Current Thoughts:
This is a fairly weak ability (a worse version of Ishmaelâs ability). Nullify it in F[however many people are in the cult], but Iâd say to allow it to last as long as the participants want.
Just steal Marshalâs idea for this one.
This is basically guaranteeing damage on an opponent of [modifier] * X because not being able to defend against a player is very dangerous, especially in late-game or precarious situations and doubly especially with Alliance. Iâd set the modifier at 0.2, rounded up, but weâre coming back to the question of, âHow much Energy is a point of Health worth?â
I like the idea behind this one, but unfortunately, the optimal strategy is just choose Option 3.
Maybe add an element of âchoose a higher number, and you add +2 to your bidâ or something like that? We need to encourage players to gamble for the more valuable Options.
Will continue to shill my hot potato idea. Would be extremely funny.
Gonna propose this, seeing as we donât want the player to fall off until mid-game.
The âyou must use this ability on the next roundâ part feels like a trap with another ability. Not sure where, though.
Other than that, this is basically just Big Punch.
Spoken at length about this already, but we probably need to ditch the ârestore all playersâ Healthâ mechanic.
Extremely funny ability that very much warrants its cost with how many Big Punch abilities we seem to have.
This is a more interesting Final Gambit.
That said, acquiring 5 Good Minor powers is next to impossible without overextending yourself in bidding. Thereâs an argument for reducing the threshold to 3 powers, but I think this is due for an outright rewrite to maintain the spirit.
Very funny ability that is probably too swingy and likely discourages a player from typing.
Instead, flip it around: halve the starting ability, but enable that player to redeem a set number of messages each round for Health (the closer the message is to the desired way, the more Health).
I need to run the numbers on this tomorrow, but this is my favorite role idea of the bunch.
i still think greatest scam needs a reword. it feels way to over powered as it currently reads
It feels underpowered to me.
How do you get 5 powers (6 including The Greatest Scam), let alone 5 Good powers?
⌠i fully dont get why you expect it to be a homestuck thing and not something difficult but i agree it would need to be a harder restriction
half of them are fucking âsay nya every messageâ tho
read mutation mechanics 2nd post in thread
a restriction of a player being unable to say words theyâve said before might be a bit tough / hard work to track. what would the workflow for that be? would i have to ISO a player for every word they say, every time they make a post? iâd like to be suggested a convenient method to check for something like that in case you guys want something like that
any other player is allowed to point it out?
thats good yeah
