The gambling man won!
the 1/2 half bet let you use the 1/2 half of your energy (which you did bet) twice. (once for attack and once for defense.) Also since these arenât basic attacks/defense it doesnât affected via minor powers. (obviously people might not have known this, when they designed the power.)
If the bet doesnt get refunded, you are at 100, if you are betting 50 and if you win you use 25 for attack and 25 for defense. So youre just throwing away energy. If its 1/2 of âmax energyâ (which isnt even a concept but it could be) - then youre betting 50 and if you win you can attack for 50 and defend for 50. Which you already could have done by not betting. So the only way this makes sense for me, to gain a reward, is if your bet of 50 gets refunded and you get the extra benefit on top.like there should be a net bonus over not betting
Actually wait. My bad.
In this case if the bet doesnt get refunded, and your bet of 50 transforms into 50 attack and 50 defense, you still get your 50 remaining energy. So u have 150 energy to work with
I was wrong on this, but still. I feel like betting 50% of ur energy on a 1/7 to win should come with benefits
You can use 1/2 for attack and 1/2 for defense (which you gained via gambit, the gamble let you do both.)
And you still have the 1/2 energy you havenât used for gamble.
So if you win the gamble on 1/2 you basically get +50% energy.
If you give back the energy as well, you basically just
the gamble doesnât say it calculates based on the energy you did bet.
So with 100, if you bet 50, you would gain 50 defense, 50 attack, and you still would have 50 leftover energy.
Actually i think your interpretation is correct because in Hazardâs original submission (which i slightly reworded) - in the rewards for the abilities that copy, he worded it as the player being able to use their invested energy to use the copied abilities. So he also understood it as investment, the bet, that doesnt get refunded. Let me pull it up
Yeah he specifically says âget your energy backâ on some bets and not on others. Alright, ill rule it as not getting energy back on the wagers where it doesnt say so
Alright ill treat it as âmax energyâ / âenergy you had before you paid the cost for thisâ
So hazard spent 7 energy on the 1/3 gamble and won the ability to gain up to 10 shields
So @Hazardwaste youre at 20 HP / 13 E and you may gain up to 10 shields (uninteractable with minor powers) this round
i donât particularly love it but youve shown a particularly resilient will to sacrifice your own health to lower mine
These games have been a fun social experiment that showcases how much we take communication for granted and how difficult it actually is to avoid miscommunications with people. Interesting thing to philosophize about
why did you just threaten to kill my mother??
@tutuu what happens, if somebodyâs basic attack becomes negative? Would it count as 0 damage?
@Squirrel2412 @Hazardwaste @Marluna @Marshal
Main phase 2 starts!
Squirrel: 53 HP / 53 E
Hazard: 20 HP / 13 E
Marluna: 33 HP / 33 E
Marissa: 34 HP / 34 E
Marluna and Marissa are in an Alliance
Hazard has the gun. It canât be shot at Marissa
Hazard may gain up to 10 shields for free this round (non-interactive with minor powers; cause damage from leftover shields)
Marissa will be taking 57 from Marluna from last round
24 hours deadline
For the sake of not dragging the game for too long ill be more conservative with giving extensions from now on
Yeah ill count it as 0. I wont count it as healing though that sounds hilarious
Actions received. Sorry i cant resolve them rn. Will do asap. A few hours
You should count it as healing purely for the chaos it opens up for future games.
