Have you guys seen this kind of thing before? Where a mod statement that information will not lie to you conflicts with a role like Ninja?

I feel like Mafia as a game can’t promise “information won’t lie to you” beyond promising the mod’s information provided is legit. Please tell me if you’ve experienced different.

And to further consider… a thing like “You saw nobody visit your target last night.” isn’t necessarily mod information, it’s just information provided by the mod based on role. So it’s role information. Mod information is like… in a role card that says “You can visit someone at night and know who visits that person” and that info you get from the mod is guaranteed to not be wrong according to the “No sort of information will lie to you” line

Doesn’t this disprove the possibility of a ninja modifier anyway? If you weren’t seen visiting a target, that’s a form of lying information.

And now that I’m thinking about it further, why is Magnus even asking this? Leafia already backed off on the ninja modifier and claimed it was a fake claim. So I was really just responding to this idea that ninja wouldn’t fit with the rule given, and I think it would (though it’s really not relevant at all in hindsight)

I mean I’m here and I’m thinking about stuff for the next 2-3 hours. I’m super susceptible to AtE and Leafia hit it pretty hard from the anger angle. I read through some of the Flicker game that Neon pointed to and none of that felt anywhere near as AtE strong as what happened here (unless I missed it). I have had a scum be openly and legit angry at me in a previous game though due to how I was treating them, and I think Leafia’s anger here could simply be legit and NAI so i’m trying to work through that. I have also seen scum tell a town that they feel harassed due to how much the town was tunneling them and I believe they did legit feel harassed. So yeah… trying to work through my stance on Leafia atm.

This guy gets it. I never fake emotions regardless of my alignment.

I’ve been thinking. There’s a way for Achro/Leafia to be V/V if we have a fake thunderdome.
It depends on how likely a roleblocker would have been on Leafia.
So this is what I’m thinking.
Leafia tries to visit Neon. Achro is on Neon, yet doesn’t see Leafia on Neon because there’s a roleblocker on Leafia.
Does this work?

That or Achro was redirected. Which I think is far more likely.

He also unretracted it so why didn’t I claim that I was lying about lying and reclaim it ifvI’m scum. And if I’m scum, why didn’t Achro see any town protectives on Neon?

Obviously, if the roleblocker is scum aligned they aren’t going to out in worlds where Achro/Leafia are V/V as that’s a free mislunch.
If they’re town aligned, then they’re sleeping or letting it go on longer than it should.

if you use a gladiate on someone you need to be prepared to be lynched. in a mash or rolemadness it is always ending up in a “do we lynch the now vanilla player or the person who just hardclaimed pr” situation whenever i’ve seen it before

I remember when I used a gladiator ability D1 on someone that was suspecting me. It was back way before I joined here though. Probably even before I met Seth. I became confirmed town because of it and postgame someone mentioned that the moment town lost was the moment they started thinking I was confirmed town. I was the leader of the scum faction that game. Laughs

If Achro doesn’t rescind and no one outs a roleblock/redirect on Leafia, then they are either the unluckiest town I’ve ever seen or they’re scum.
Thing is, finding entire teams is hard when none of them have flipped.

You need to play some ToS. I’ve seen townies who were far unluckier than I am today. Because it’s either there’s no town protectives or I’m just a villager here and these games always have town protectives.
