gif avatars are now supported
they only animate on focus - when hovering over a post, or looking at a user card / profile page
gifs are automatically resized and cropped to fit a square, so non-square gifs may stretch or look wonky

Can someone pls tell me how to turn my pfp into a gif
I use an app called Motionleap to animate images. Overlays like snow or blinking or mist are fairly easy but making stuff move around can be difficult and requires experimentation. I tried making the hippo jiggle a bit, though the complicated background makes it difficult to look exactly right.
