On a just me level being told to go sit in a corner is not just condescending and talking down to me but i take it as telling me to shut up and get in my place.
I’m not okay with anyone being told to go sit in a corner but to me it’s especially egregious to say to a girl because of how they’ve historically been treated.
That’s why my reaction was so visceral but also that’s not fair to put on someone else who probably isn’t thinking like that just because of my own personal thoughts.
