The funny thing is that our main character is seen as “suspicious” for “pretending to be straight”, so it could just be canon.
Death Note is generally worth watching because it’s a good series, but it has several critical flaws so keep that in mind if you see it, Chloe.

You put on disguises, sneak into a bar, the bartender calls you out for being underage and serves you milk, you spot a guy cyberbullying Ichihime, you follow him into an alleyway, demand he gives you his laptop, Ichihime threatens to kill him, then you ask him nicely to stop cyberbullying and walk off
