The Navidson Record (Day/Night/Compusive/N0)
On N0, you may select a target and learn their full role. They will remain your target until they die. Your target will be informed that they have found The Navidson Record and that they must render the word house and all variants in a shade of blue for the remainder of the game.

If your target dies, you may pick a new one during the subsequent phase. You cannot use any of your abilities during the phase you select a new target.

You may not claim your role. If you do so, you will be vanillaised for the rest of the game. It is possible for your target to discover your identity, but that is a mystery they must solve themselves.

Each night, you must use one of the following compulsive, cycling abilities on your target. You may not repeat use of an ability until you have used the others. After your death, you retain access to your abilities for one additional night phase.

• Annotate: Edit one of your target’s actions or abilities by crossing out words and/or rearranging words. This takes effect during the following phase, and your target will be informed of the ability’s new wording. Hosts have veto power over this action should it cause an extremely disruptive interaction.
• Pass Manuscript: Select a modifier¹, and add it to their ability. Additionally, you may draft a post²; during the following day phase, your target must send it in thread at their earliest convenience. They may add footnotes as they see fit. You may not place intentional hints toward your identity in this post.
• Obsession: Redirect all actions your target takes onto a player who you voted for at some point during the preceding day phase. Your target will learn who they were redirected to, and you will learn all of their feedback. Your target is protected from death during the night you use this ability.

¹ Modifier must be selected from the following list. You may only use each modifier once per game.

• Announcing: the ability’s targets will learn its name and that it targeted them (but not who performed the action)
• Compulsive: ability must be used every night, until and unless it runs out of uses
• Day/Night: night ability becomes a day ability, and vice versa
• Reflexive: ability cannot be actively used, and will instead automatically target all players who target user
• Strongwilled: ability cannot be roleblocked or redirected
• Weak: user will die if they target non-town with this ability

² The post must follow game rules, forum rules, and general etiquette; be nice.

Atlas revised my role from insisting that its user “be fucking niceys” to simply “be nice”. Which completely destroys the designer’s intent IMO

i remember someone once claimed a role where they were bulletproof if their truth:lie ratio was exactly 2:1 (with very slight leniency). people took the claim seriously until they realized that no sane host would try to process that shit. they were town btw

i once had a role that was bus driver but you had to play rock paper scissors against the host and if you lost you got busdriven with your first target instead (and if you lost three times you got vanillized) and the one time i picked rock everything went catastrophically wrong and i never picked it again
