I think I’d be a poor fit for the role given that I’ve realised being referred to as somebody’s girlfriend in an insufficiently lesbian way makes me want to kill them and dump their body in a river

Being a thing that somebody owns is soooo like conceptually horrifying to me. I’ve realised that’s why being a pet sounds like my worst nightmare. Like sometimes I think about the life my dog lives and get really sad and upset. It’s cause belonging to somebody sounds awful. Even in like a really nice pleasant way, like my dog lives a very happy life and is rarely ordered around at all, but it’s the concept. It’s the idea

that’s interesting, do you feel the same way towards “x is y’s boyfriend”, is it the language or specifically girlfriend?

Every time they - I don’t even quite know how to refer to them, which is my fault - do any kind of, like, you know the normal sort of possessive-ish romantic gestures… I tolerate it, because I know they want to do it and I’m not upset enough by it to care to stop it, but it’s like this is EXACTLY what I do not want

most of the girls and women i know irl have been very assertive, independent, if anything more so than the guys. its the guys who feel lucky if the girl wants to be with them. #culture diff
