Yeah that’s fair

i mean i feel like yes this is true: if you intepret the movie in the worst way possible. The fact that frank n furter made Rocky (and also has sex with Janet and Brad) isnt like coorelated to the characters gender at all, rather the goofiness of the character itself. Watching it doesnt have you make the connection “oh, transgender people are weird and just wanna have sex” you see it as “this is an evil lair with an evil doctor and this is making fun of like every science fiction trope possible” (see tropes such as evil scientist making a person, aliens, evil mansion in the woods, swapping brains, german doctor scientist professor, the Time Warp, etc)

I also dont feel like it was ever implied frank n furter was a transgender woman nor a transgender man, the only thing that really implies this usually is whoever the actor is playing frank n furter. The whole point of his character is that he highlights both exterme points of femininty and extreme points of masculinity. Frank n furter literally uses he/him pronouns in the musical

The idea that frank n furter is sexually threatening is also a fairly weird conclusion to make because it is Not Just Frank n Furter. Its like everyone in the mansion, except Brad and Janet (until later as well). I wouldnt’t call them sexually threatening still, I would just call them sexual, which is like a completely different thing and also a valid way to express yourself. There is, of course, the bedroom scene, which im not gonna defend, but I again don’t think thats really interconnected at all to frank n furter’s gender, rather his sexuality.

I dont think anyone came out of the musical with a lesser view of trans people because of it (or at the very least its a very small minority), I don’t think the musical was trying to say “oh trans people are aliens who eant to have sex” and everything else that reading into it that way would imply, it was making fun of science fiction tropes in a very campy way while also lushing both gender and sexual boundries that wasnt really seen at the time

Ok.
I think the way I - very bad writer - would approach this as a first-person thing through Esther’s eyes.
Your fundamental backbone is that Esther is helped out of her delusion by Cara, and part of me wonders if Cara can be helped out of her own delusion by Esther?

How long is this short story expected to be?

im currently in the space between “writing the outline” and the “writing the story” and i’m taking a lil’ break
tommorow i will get in da zone and write it

~5 pages?
that’s how long my last one was
there’s no Set Limit other than “multiple pages” but certainly not more than 8
it’ll mostly just depend on what coems to me

yeah no maybe it wasnt intended or w/e but it still Did That so

also you can’t exactly argue that dr. frank-n-furter isn’t supposed to be transgender when he is literally described, over and over again, as being from a place called Trannsexual

Idk i just dont see how you watch rocky horror and then come out with the conclusion that it was demonizing transgender people or playing into harmful stereotypes (outside of like the use of the word transvestite but tbf it was the 70s and I also don’t really think they use it in a harmful way)
