Googling aside.
I assume that pool of categories will have repeating several categories?

Likeā€¦ 12 people get 3 categories each from total of 12 subjects (which means on avarge there will be 3 repeates of each category).

Then they discard one of those, which means 24 are left from 12 subjects.

Whichā€¦ means there will be several of repeating categories? And we are chosing from those repeating categories?
Thatā€™s only way I see choosing actually have any sense.

Becouse if itā€™s just chose one, next person choses other subject, thenā€¦ 12 people will just use 12 subjects and it wonā€™t have any point in chosing at all if we all have to do all of them anyway.

So likeā€¦

Seth needs to make 12 questions for each of 12 categories, right?
144 questions?

And then we discard stuff, lowering the pool down?

Thatā€™s only logical way it makes any sense.

I admit, Iā€™m in awe they had patience to create 144 questions.

Isnā€™t he giving the same questions to everyone?

Yeah, but you have 12 rounds.
And 12 categories.

144 questions neededā€¦ optimally.

But I thought he was just asking one question per round to everyone, unless I misunderstood.

Yeah, but he lets each player select a category, right?

So each category might repeat if player selects so.

What would be the point of players selecting categories if it was just going to be ā€œgo through this 12 categories and thatā€™s itā€ ?

But I think there are only a certain number of each subject. He says this in the OP.

So I think it is kind of like the game Jeopardy where thereā€™s a board with subjects and a few under each and you pick whatā€™s left

I was speaking about this.

Everyone gets 3 uvjects to chose from.
And there is 12 topics and 12 players.

So there are bound to be repeated categories.

Ahh yes, that was a little confusing. When he says a subject is thrown out, Iā€™m not sure he means the whole subject is eliminated. It might just be that there are a certain number of questions of each subject and you can remove one of a given subject to lessen those. But yeah, itā€™s confusing.

If there is 12 subjects and 12 playerrsā€¦ if we all eliminate one subject, there might be none at the end, lol.

Haha exactly. So itā€™s got to mean we just remove one question of a given subject, but there will still be others that might have been kept

So yeah, I assume its bit of "gett 3 categories, chose which 2 will happen.

Which in the end means there will be pool of 24 questions of categories which ar left.
And that means there can be up to 12 times the same category. Unlikely, but yeah.

Anyway, I see little point with ā€œplayer chose category from remaining 24ā€ part, as it will only delay the game and we have to go through all of those anyway.

To clarify In a 12 player game there is a total of 24 Questions.

I Think Iā€™ll wait for at least 1 more player to join and then Iā€™ll start it.

Unless by Friday we donā€™t have anymore in which case Iā€™ll start it on Friday.

Yā€™know if you wanna join you can have fun too!

Yeah, but since you donā€™t know what categories people will discard, it means you have 144 questions ready, right?

Thatā€™s the part which is amusing to me. Certainly required a lot of work.

ā€œno im coming up with them on the spotā€ incoming
