for me it would be easier, and i was also suggesting that the hosts would also write “day 1” “day 2” posts etc in the parallel thread. so basically a second thread where all posts except whisper command posts are gone, in theory this should be easier in my mind, like basically an ISOlation for whisper commands only. but i havent played yet so i dont know for sure

this is mostly true when theres a spy in the game like there has been the last few times
bc in non spy games people being able to kill/poison/otherwise delete all your ongoing info roles is devestating
because the 1 extra minion that you get in place of a spy is usually one dedicated to maiming info characters
Well, let’s see.
The Demon has bluffs, so you’re never identifying the flagbearer with this tactic.
If the Minions are next to the Demon / see the grim / later in the circle, they can be more careful with their claims.
If there are Outsiders or Townsfolk which don’t want to claim, doing so anyway gives evil the chance to play around them while Poisoner / Assassin / whatever can interfere with certain roles.
Good roles have no opportunity to socially confirm themselves. Who cares if you can grandmother confirm the Savant who already claimed?
For the record, having everyone hardclaim immediately is effectively like giving out a Spy grim.

i’m curious how widow games don’t just… instantly result in a massclaim. i suppose it makes more sense in shortform where the widow being forgetful is a factor

Because the player who heard a Widow isn’t confirmed.
I would love if people give me a widow ability without it being in play
you massclaim if you trust them being good
if they seem very evil then you do not
If I’m evil, I would absolutely love to hear everyone else’s roles.

just don’t trust widow calls that were part of a massive whisper chain before claiming the widow’s call
Sometimes that Widow’d player might not want to claim the ping either, because if they’re seen as honest, they’re confirmed good.
Why wouldn’t they want to claim it then?
this is why wiidow damsel is great because every minion is safe to claim widow ping if they see damsel
