Assassination Classroom’s BOTF XXIII - Evil Wins

I think we have Personal Biases

Evils get roles like hatter that let them change their roles they’ve got vizier, they got organ grinder, they got psychopath (speaking design wise)

Good have…A role that tells you someone is vaguely evil on your left or right hand side and that’s it
Snitch in general
Chef in general

Like being evil in BOTC is fun you get to do cool things being good in botc is like “here’s your info now fuck off”

i wont fight this take, but even if so i also dont think screwing the evil team on a storyteller whim is a good solution to that problem

It’s hard to shake an opinion like that when all good side has gotten for roles are outsiders that are extremely negative utility like even harsher negative utility than something like klutz or damsel which is already bad

and evil just keeps getting these roles that make being good even less fun, like Ojo. Not played with it yet, but it seems extremely unfun to play with on the script in general. Oh I got a fun role like lycanthrope? doesn’t matter, the demon didn’t want to deal with that role so even if I successfully bluffed against the demon I died anyway

You’re cherry-picking roles. The good team also has High Priestess, which is on par with Fisherman but like, all the time.

It’s just my take script-wise it’s up to the ST’s to run a fair game

i def understand but i dont know if theres a viable way to build an sdg where good can do that without just steamrolling evils

or i suppose botc is built around a premise that “solving the game as good is fun” which is a fair take but also shrug

If they are on the script they have a chance of being in the game and are roles that the ST doesn’t have any say over other than if they’re in or not

me when I rand snitch

Like I say it just feels like that design wise. The script building and ST running is an entirely different story given that’s game-to-game so to speak.

to the contrary ojo is extremely encouraging to successfully bluff against, especially in lategame
because if you do lie to them, youre untouchable when they try to kill you

its just a different facet, i think youre seeing a valid facet of the ojo that is counterbalanced by a separate facet

point taken on og/psycho/viz though, those seem just built to be fun for exactly one player

…has anyone actually seen a non-stream script with snitch on it

yeah i think i generally agree with you about bad roles being bad

I haven’t played it or against it yet so maybe but, idk. If the ojo doesn’t want a FT, they just say “bye bye FT” and if I randed that role I would know that and just essentially stop trying

Like if I am a role I would want dead as a demon in an ojo game then I am essentially fucked
