I think the thing here is that the less you speak with people, the less socially confident you become
People don’t usually seek to harm you even if you are a stranger but it’s understandable nonetheless

And goodness. I am literally in a D&D groupchat with people in voicechat.
But sadly I don’t have a microphone… or even want to have one 
I’ve actually started with phonecalls, which have a similar but slightly better effect on me
I’m getting better. I was making progress with being in a vc last year but uh. some setbacks happened

i am fairly insecure about alot of things. it takes time to heal
I feel a little disheartened when I voicechat my real life friends and we don’t have topics to talk about
i like my voice but only really use it to talk to people on, like, omegle or random voice proxy chat games lol. i am gamer
anxiety around speaking sucks a lot. i’ve also had that a few years back
