Bland & Flavorless Mountainous 15er - Mafia Winnered

I just have a hard time reading too deeply into small things like that but It’s entirely possible that’s what happened. Personally I feel like if people are noticing it that easily, it’s probably because it isn’t what they think it is. It’s worth keeping in mind sure but we’ll see.

Yes, but saying “I would push differently as a wolf” means absolutely nothing to me and is unverifiable as far as I’m concerned and is just a cheap deflection tactic.

The third person I am referring to is a ghost because I’m dumb and thought there were three. Either way. I only see one wolf making the push; especially since there’s only three I have suspicions they’ll be more sensitive to eachother since they can’t really afford to mess up as much as a bigger wolf team could.

We’ll see.

i can cover two birds with one stone through this post

this is a votecount from neon’s most recent wolfgame (where she posted significantly better than her last wolfgame on this site and more or less snowed me there despite me scumreading her in starcraft) so i am probably subconsciously toning down my townread on her right now,

that said, i think she has been mildly villagery so far e.g. her bluntless about killing seth for being anti-town for self-voting without consideration for his alignment, which i think is something a wolf would be more cautious about posting) and her entitledness wrt taking the game at her own pace by staying in “her own RVS” rather than trying to fit in and appeal to anyone.

the only thing that was kinda ? was the post towards phraze “are you going to pocket me again” i think it was, which is like. a textbook post wolves make towards each other when they feel like they need to interact (see: ladd’s MU article on w/w interactions). i should not even have this read because i don’t scumread either of these players, and yet it exists! but we’ll keep this in mind for later if i turn out to be massively wrong about everything

as for what you were saying, i think the votecount proves that wolves (particularly stronger ones, or ones who can rally a weaker team) can easily pile on a villager wagon together should it either be necessary to save a wolf or to confuse the town (with the latter being more likely in that votecount). this was not actually the point i was making, because my world was one where seth is town and may is a wolf, but i thought we may as well nip this logic in the bud here

i feel like magnus is laying it on a bit thick with post. earlier he clearly pointed out that he was getting mild tonal pings from jarek and implied that he wanted to vote him (unless im stupid) so i don’t see what his confusion is here, nor do i buy that he thinks that he can generate more useful reactions from not voting someone than voting them.

seth/magnus/may. eliza?
problem is a bunch of these people are clearly not w/w
magnus/may being the main one, i think (see: may’s callout of magnus’s post joking about wolfchat being one that a wolf would probably be too scared to make on a partner, plus her callout of magnus’s lack of a vote)
eliza/seth… is. huh. one second

hi guys i’m awake now. splatfest today anyone play splat 3

@Zorvo why did you not call out eliza’s vote on you as being opportunistic? i’m looking at the context of those posts again and if you are town eliza’s posts look like textbook wolf jumping on the bandwagon while taking 0 responsibility for it

Summary

i originally wanted to look at these posts to check the viability of seth/eliza as a pairing, and i feel like seth’s ignoring of what is perhaps the worst treatment of his slot is bizarre to me and may indicate w/w

fwiw, the reason i started to suspect eliza and townread arete was due to arete’s post on eliza being in commentary mode. for arete, i find it unlikely wolf them would have had the thought to change gear mid-seth argument and call out eliza for being in commentary mode while they were trying to leverage a push on seth (considering that eliza had also just voted seth at this point) so i think it indicates they have a malleable view of the game. for eliza, well. i just agreed with the post lol

what is w/w

i’m so happy this game is actually readable i didn’t think it would happen and i thought this would be a miserable spam/omgus fest (it still kinda is the latter. but beggars can’t be choosers i guess)

wolf/wolf

by the way, do you actually know May or were you two just trolling? because i would quite like to know if it is bullshit, seeing as if it is, the entire shtick you’ve been pulling the entire game is incredibly wolfy

VOTE: Magnus

@Magnus what caused you to change your read between these two posts?

no i actually know may. if i didn’t and just coordinated with them before the game it’d have been incredibly lucky to have just happened upon the first person receptive to my bits lmao

lmao i want to townread this
it’s so out of left field but if i understand correctly it’s rooted in paranoia from zorvo’s incessant distancing habits which could point to arete being a wolf with him (i don’t agree, but i think given jarek’s experience with seth this thought is fine for him to have)

i think i’m at something like

varying levels of town: arete, neon, jarek, molly, prisma
varying levels of wolfy: zorvo(?), eliza, may, magnus

which for anti-aligning reasons i stated earlier feels probably wrong. but then again i don’t have reads on like half the game yet so i feel like this is unavoidable

@Zorvo why do you townread Neon? these were your only posts about them and I don’t really understand how you end up on a townread from this

I’d like to have the kind of psychic mindmeld that would enable us to recall facts about the other’s previous, non-public games while trolling. That would be impressive.

For the record, I’ve seen town Seth in a few recent games, and he is very often right. I don’t understand people who say he’s completely incomprehensible or has no underlying logic - I usually find him predictable and easy to follow.

My agreeing with him in this case is a combination of a few factors -

  1. As I mentioned earlier, Arete is doing exact the same thing as you are, but I’m not getting town pings from them. I couldn’t tell you why.

  2. Zorvo, someone I find towny, is already voting them, and I generally think his instincts have more merit than people give them credit for.

  3. Encouraging wagons and opinions and 1v1s is very good for the gamestate, and Zorvo specifically tends to have strong opinions that yield a lot of material to analyze.

  4. Arete’s response to Zorvo seems primarily concerned with defending themselves, in a way that’s like… they see it as an argument to win, and the winstate is everyone else wolfreading Zorvo. It’s the sort of thing Molly was doing to me on early days in GOAT^2, and I missed that tell.

read up a bit during break
I’m on post #55 lol

feel comfortable popping a vote on Zorvo
VOTE: Zorvo

also, I didn’t really have the energy yesterday because I was sleepy so I’ll do this now and we can pretend this was my first post:

YAAAAHHH MOUNTAINOUS!!!

Arctic Said the Following: (sorry I lost the quote to it.)

feel like this is probably villagery? for wolf prisma to have the thought that they would only vote at eod, it would have to be for some tactical/strategical reason to gain an advantage, so i think them contradicting this is villagery

My Response: This is a reach read IMO.

Me, Magnus and May are Obvious Town.

Something that you should realize cause I also got a bit of a lower read from Molly. It isn’t anything concrete but yeah I would say it be Rand W more then T if I had to GTH.

It’s funny that my town reads are being called wolfy as am I.

Yeah thought someone who eventually bring that up.
I skimmed through some of their later posts and there was some meta talk and I was seeing some things I remember Neon doing in their town game and didn’t do in my wolf game with them.

Well I’m town and have a solid case on Arete and you should vote Arete instead.

I’m still not sure on Jarek.

I think he can be in either meta right now, either alignment.

@Lemonfairy

Yo did you take a look at my Arete case yet?
I can quote it for you if you want.

What made you vote me btw?
Previous Point made by someone? (Elaborate)
Sheeping a player? (Scream Sheep)
Your own reasoning (Elaborate)
For Fun (Start posting Cat GIF’s)

It means you’ve been interacting a bunch.

Would you believe me if I said that was a typo?
But really, what I did say and what I am saying are two different reads.

At first I construed Molly’s posts as solving. On reflection, Molly has only really commented or been helpful; derpclear Prisma, explains in a follow-up post; votes Otter, says they’re doing better… and nothing else. Really, it looks like Molly’s floating.
