if this second point is referring to my activity then like, lol. i don’t have time to play massively active games which is part of why i was advocating for a postcap to be added. if you’re trying to say that my posts in the thread aren’t solving

it is partially activity, partially a sense that when you show up you are not really using your time in a way that moves the game or your own reads forward

the magnus point is like, okay?.. i would do it as scum. but i would also do it as town. i get your stats thing but like, i don’t know why you think this lean is strong enough to warrant it actually being significant (unless i don’t understand correctly)

part of it is that I think it’s very likely that you’d do it as scum in those circumstances, which means that even if it’s still moderately likely you’d do it as town it can still be a significant update

like (made up numbers) if I think there’s an 80% chance you’d do it as scum and a 30% chance you’d do it as town, then (not made up numbers) you doing it means the chance of you carrying town goes from 62.5% to 38.46%

I have experience with you on this site and I think you’re underselling yourself

it is day 4 and you’ve had 0-1 correct pushes depending on May’s alignment. you have some bad towngames, sure, but not that bad – you weren’t that bad in PAC, you weren’t that bad in Dicey Dungeons you just gave up on your correct pushes and went back to the wrong ones.

why are you mad at me? (to be clear, this is a sincere, alignment-relevant question)

because i think i am getting mixed up how much i want you to be mafia versus how much i actually think you are mafia. i’ve townread you without many second thoughts until this day (and this point in particular) and i recognize that throwing the read out the window for your treatment of my slot alone is objectively a bad idea that is not likely to result in a correct read on your slot. but to think that town you is misreading me for what i think you should know are terrible reasons in a way that i find so un-Arete-like just makes me irate. and it’s way easier just to assume you are mafia not actually reading my posts and not have to think about it.

yet the dilemma i’m faced is that i recognize today that i am going to have to come to a conclusion on your slot and make people listen to me on it for the rest of the game or we are going to lose, but the thought of doing this knowing the game likely hinges on whether i make the right decision after i’ve already had a pretty bad game just makes me want to disappear and let someone else take responsibility

So I will admit his vote makes some sense but what’s really odd is Arctic previously showed concern on Otter yet for some reason didn’t vote it.
I was also talking to Arctic during that day and he didn’t plan to vote Prisma at the end or even go to Otter.
Perhaps Arctic is indeed a wolf, I’m right on that and Arctic didn’t need to vote cause they knew otter is town.

the one solution i can see is flipping a not-me/prisma/arete wolf (of which i know at least one exists, but more likely 2-3) and then use the information the flip provides to determine whether the people in that group are more or less likely to be wolves, and present this information to hopefully-more-open-minded (given that this would prove his me/arete/prisma team wrong) zorvo

Like I don’t know if I have the energy to keep trying to solve this game I’m getting into that state of demoralization where I forsee a town loss with no wolves dead as is typical with most games. I’m trying not to slump into that, but it’s quite hard, considering nothing seems to be changing.
