To be more specific about my scumreads:

  • Magnus is acting different. I know having an outside friend around tends to make people change their behavior a bit, so the pings could just be that, but they’re making arguments they normally wouldn’t (vaguely leveraging past games, etc.), they’re treating slots in ways I don’t understand, etc etc et al. Can’t really say more without actually going through and thinking about it, which you have forbidden.

  • Nothing Prisma’s done as a new player has specifically pinged town new player to me. Most of it seems completely NAI. You’d think this would amount to a neutral read, and at first it did, but the way they very specifically started acting extra oblivious to Magnus’s joke right after someone mentioned them being new seemed townie…

(I know that like, when you’re a new townie, survival seems the easiest strategy to employ, since you know you’re town and you don’t quite know if you can find the scum yet, and so this could just be that - “oh, people won’t kill me if I do this” - but it feels just a little on the side of wolf to me. Their readlist is the kind of thing that could be easily coached, so it feels NAI to me.)

Also yeah my initial thing is to talk more and not get too tunnelled into stuff anymore that was my initial reason for me being “Zorvo”

you are literally quoting a different interaction to prove that they weren’t looking for reactions in the post of theirs i quoted. lmfao

you can’t assert that prisma asking you what they think about you is wolfy just because they scumread and shouldn’t care about your opinion, when it’s entirely plausible, if not likely, that they asked that question in order to get a read on you
nor can you prove that they weren’t trying to solve you from your reaction by citing a different post of prisma’s in a different interaction and say “they weren’t trying to gauge reactions here so they weren’t in the other post either”

If someone says “im town”, that is generally non-alignment indicative. Anyone can and would say “im town”, because everyone has motivation to think they’re town.

Similarly, if someone says “im wolf”, that’s also generally non-alignment indicative, because nobody has any motivation to be seen as a wolf (usually), so there’s no reason to assume that person would actually be serious.

You did assume Magnus was serious, or at least it reads that way, despite the fact that they had clearly labeled the statement saying they were a wolf as a joke, which I read as odd.

For the record, I actually find Magnus’s repeated jokes about being a wolf a little bit over the top - I don’t think they normally do it to this level - and that’s another little brick in the wall of my wolf ping on Magnus.

i did kind of squint at the “i’m just trying to survive” post but like. i feel like this is common enough from newbtown for me to want to avoid reading into it much

i feel like if their readlist was coached it would have been. uh. more like an actual readlist than just “x is idk” and “y is normal”, so i’m not convinced by that either

  1. My priority on the first day is always to prioritise info, which I’ve slacked on doing. I feel like I’ve written enough content/received reactions enough for everyone to analyse tomorrow though, so it’s not all bad.
  2. My theory has been supported, in that most players will scumread me the first time they play with me since they don’t know me. My general Mafia theories detract from the norm, given the negative reactions to me claiming villagers also act villagery, rather than the commonly accepted “villagers don’t act good, they just are” idea.
  3. It doesn’t matter; unless you’re trying to humour me, in which case give me more credit than that. Legacy reads aren’t real, I can’t predict the future and you should focus on “current” content instead of “past” content. Looking at the dead is my excuse. Just believe that wolves are trying to act towny, so don’t immediately clear players for, y’know, acting towny. I agree with May’s read on Zorvo; Arctic’s pinging me the same way Vulgard did in GOAT^2; Prisma’s pinging me but I don’t know how much of that comes from being new; Jarek’s being strangely quiet and I know he played passively in UFO; the game hinges on Zorvo’s and Arete’s alignments; Aleph’s seeking refuge in audacity, pressure them more; in short, get everyone to do more stuff. There’s a postcount of 150 and the average player’s posted ~60 times (at time of writing).

I have a post restriction, sorry. Just so you quit bugging me I’ll say myself and leave it there, but I wouldn’t self-vote and that’s not really my answer, from my personal perspective. From an outsider’s perspective, given how the majority of votes are on me, it seems explanatory.

Read this carefully. Prisma asked me for my opinion on them; I said there’s not much point in answering; Prisma concedes, but then follows up by saying what Aro said about reading reactions. When I pressed for Prisma’s results, they didn’t have anything. The way I interpreted it was Prisma belatedly remembering what Aro said, after the fact, which means they weren’t reactiontesting at the time.

Magnus actually did send me off on a bit of a tangent there, because yeah, Jarek is acting different; much more passive, not making reads - they were confident they’d found two wolves in the first hour of Starcraft, something which I say as a neutral statement, not a criticism; confidence in reads, even wrong ones, is often very beneficial - and those benefits are something this stagnant game needs, so I’m going to take the gamestate, put it in a bag, and slam it against the ground, something I miss being able to physically do to things in real life, but can nonetheless continue to speak of in metaphors for the votes I’m about to place.

^ All one sentence. I’m going to try to make the possible naturally flowing sentence this game, and if the mafia kill me before I can get one I’m satisfied with, I will cry.

Don’t kill me for editing out a period that was initially an ellipsis and then I was like “well is it one sentence if there’s an ellipsis I dunno may as well edit it out” so I went to change it to a semicolon but accidentally didn’t. Until that edit. It always has been all one sentence in spirit

Well I chalk my lack of posting down to the post-count making me scared to talk too much in case I start ranting (stupid I know) and also the fact it’s D1. Have I EVER tried that hard on D1. I mean like rlly.
